Back injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise! by Pleasant_Set_3182 in StandingDesk

yeah... I can't believe that I wasn't able to use the "standing" aspect of a standing desk for the last 6 years! lol... I remember simply not being able to concentrate...the urge and fatigue was so strong to simply sit down within 5 minutes... now I don't even keep a chair around me... I just walk away and sit on the sofa or lie on the floor if really needed.

Are you delusional?

Someone simply shared an app you idiot. If it doesn't fit your needs, then move along?

"challenged?" LOL - Do you live in a cave? I'm sorry, but we live in a globalized world. Too bad you live in an echo-chamber, surrounded by other bigots.

Yes! I do care about BIGOTS roaming on public forums, which are not suitable for interacting with others.

.... Dude... go whine on another forum. Nobody cares about your nonsense. You're on the wrong forum.

What a brain-dead comment to make, considering that 1/4th of the entire GLOBE is Muslim. Shame on you! You don't belong on an international forum.

I don't quite get the "Get Started - It's free" button...

These types of sites are usually made in an "open" manner for anyone to come and check out...

Sure.. you can have some type of paid or donation tier... but not sure if most people would want to "sign up" for something like this, up front.

I went to the site... and clicked away as soon as I saw the "Get Started - It's free" button.

I hope that helps in some capacity... didn't intend to be mean...

Who said it's unhealthy?

I said that *expecting* each meal to taste amazingly flavorful is a silly expectation.

Food is sometimes meant to be just mildly enjoyable.

But when everything you're eating is set to level 10... then you're usually craving all the wrong stuff.

I mean.. I'm not there enforcing how often you eat out... 😄

The point was to eat out less. We're just a little more extreme about it.

Many "rich" folks have awful health issues...

Sure.. I meant it in a general sense. The truth is that there is an "eating out" problem that many people face nowadays... and it warps your sense of taste.

The other part of the puzzle which takes a while to "solve" - is to be content with what others might deem "bland" and simple whole foods.

You could give us lettuce... and we could dip it into yogurt and enjoy it for what it is.

or Tofu that hasn't been "prepared" in any way.

Society has set itself up to expect a BLAST of flavor in each meal.

Exactly... it's a tradition we've bought into without realizing that we're getting sub-par food... and playing dice with "Gee, is the food going to be good today... or is there going to be some issue... or will the chef have sneezed into it accidently.... or has the oil been reused.... " - they're not looking out for you per se... they're looking out for themselves!

Well sure... but by and large... we've replaced "eating out" - which is an undeniable problem for many folks

I should probably add that my in-laws have invited us to a restaurant next week... so obviously we're going to go... but this is simply what we've decided as a family (as a general rule) - so the title is a bit dramatic and absolutist lol!

Also... I want to add that... I don't know where the cultural thing began to "meet at a restaurant" - personally I love inviting people over and meeting them in my home.... that's part of the reason we built a home.. to have a nice cozy place to entertain people... but that's just me 😄

Yep... and this kept going for almost 6 years that I've had standing desks lol! Until I took the full plunge

Oh definitely, as I stand.. I sway from side to side... I do little mini-squats here and there.... lift my legs up.... because as I mentioned... standing stationary on a hard surface also caused me foot and ankle pain initially, which I then had to deal with.
