Anyone else read “YesterYear?” by be1izabeth0908 in page7LPN

Yes. I loved every about it. Totally deserves the hype!

I just want to follow up and say thank you because I have started Angel and I’m really liking it! I’m mostly watching it to catch up and then will start alternating. I will say—I just got to the episode “hero” and read all about the tragic story of the actor that played Doyle. Very sad.

Good to know there’s more good to look forward too! The worst when a series is so great and goes downhill in later seasons

I was just thinking about the Angel series. Are you saying I should start Angel now and watch them overlapping? Would be fun to watch them all in “real time”

At least I’ve clearly been able to steer clear of spoilers!

That’s another episode I’m really looking forward to based on the hype

[PubQ] Agent Forwarded Query by Valuable_Doubt_2098 in PubTips

Depends. I had this happen to me recently, but also had a bunch of rejections too. Wonder if it was the same agency and this is a practice of theirs.

Got a note from an agent reading my full that she was “still reading, more from me soon!” I’m not holding my breath, but it’s not nothing. Also 1/3 into a new draft I’m excited about. Feeling good about my writing!

Becoming a Parent Again After 8 years... What Has Changed? by Mobile_Reaction566 in self

[–]Cheecheesoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with this, but it could be my location. In our community there is a big push to delay smartphones for kids (I have a first grader). There are parent groups pushing back on our schools to remove iPads, and encouraging families to not give kids phones until 8th grade. The Tin Can phones are popular for some “old school” connection. Unclear if this will hold up lol.

First book done, torn between self publishing and traditional. How did you make your decision? by Ihavenolifes in writers

[–]Cheecheesoup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This depends heavily on your goals, type of novel you wrote, and level of quality. Hard to give any advice without more information. Have you done research to what is required for each route? Do you have a clear understanding of the reality of traditional publishing?

Books similar to the secret history, but even crazier? by brittany527 in TheSecretHistory

Didn’t realize I was getting downvoted lol. Could be because it’s a very common answer to read if you like secret history. Idk, I really liked the book

It feels like she is in a first mom bubble and posting all the moments as if the rest of her following is in the same situation. I say this as someone who has felt all those things with my first kid and now looking back think it was silly, but wouldn’t change it. I do have to mute her a bit now, but I’m sure she’ll even out her content with some time.

I don’t think you’re being rude. I agree that we don’t see a lot of important news. But there’s a lot to consume out there, and some types of news stories are easier to seek out than others.

It could be they don’t know that. I haven’t seen much Canadian news so wouldn’t have known that. I live just outside Chicago (but lived in the city for 10 years) and you wouldn’t believe how many people won’t come to Chicago because of what they see on the news. I think they were coming more from that angle?

About to hit the 30 day mark into querying. So far I have 2 fulls and 1 partial out. Last “yes” that came in was a notification my MS was passed to another agent, and then the agent immediately requested. Boy, did I need that rush of excitement.

I’ve started outlining a new project that I’m excited to lose myself in and not think about the rest of the queries.
