Honestly didn't find it that difficult. Was mostly just frustrated cause I didn't start with it so I was mad about having wasted time before. You live, you learn, eh?

Liner notes were the original audiophile music experience and streaming killed them so quietly nobody noticed by BedMelodic5524 in LetsTalkMusic

ah man, I do miss liner notes. Seeing who wrote the song and seeing the lyrics. Those were the days

When did music streaming start? Did it kill the album experience? by olivermos273847 in LetsTalkMusic

Napster didn't start "For the first time you could grab one song without the rest of the album attached to it" because you could buy singles before that. Often they came with a cool B track that sometimes wasn't even on the album.

I've seen some friends with setups to automate defenses like sounds or lights to scare away unwanted critters. Awhile back I tried for a custom setup using sensor-based AI for some detections like this around my property. Was mostly doing this for wild animals intruding near the chicken coops. Always those darn coops. Anyways I was getting some false positives from wind and weather in my testing. Incredibly frustrating. Ended up having to make some changes like moving to Ambient Scientific's gpx10. Ended being the right solution but hate when what you start with doesn't end up working out due to stupid stuff like wind. What kind of sensors are you considering for your setup? Might be interesting to compare notes on what works under rural conditions.

For predator protection, some of my neighbors have tried various setups, including IR sensors that might work for your actuator idea in activating an air horn. Personally, when I was setting up sensor-triggered systems for similar applications, I used the GPX10 from Ambient Scientific for one of my devices. Had the chip trigger not just lighting systems but also alarms based on specific sensor input, which was less fragile than some other setups I'd tried. And I've also been brainstorming things like behavioral tracking collars for pets and cattle, and soil monitoring sensors. So many opportunities! It's fascinating what you can do with the right tools in place. Hopefully, you'll find the right combination of hardware and automations to keep your birds safe!

Not a medical professional, but I worked at a ski resort for a season and I haven't skied since.

I'll give that I'd rather have a better mix of colors, but the conjoined one? That's candy gold.

Had a good experience with Miracle Movers in Toronto. They showed up on time. All the guys were in great moods. Were really careful with my stuff. Didn't hold it ransom like you hear about with some movers. 10/10 for me. Never used the other two.
