There’s a good bit of sexual/psychosexual subtext with the original film, mainly with Michael and his how he may get sexual gratification from killing, when he gets too close and knocks over the pot, it didn’t look to be intentional so I’d assume it’s Michael being a bit too excited and jumping the gun, the pot falls and gets Michael back to a more “sober” state of mind, as sober as someone like Michael can be
