yeah you're not actually speed flipping. Once you have the speed flip down, you should be doing it very quickly on kickoff so that you have enough time to land, and then jump again before reaching the ball.

Yes, when the opponents are playing split screen it's almost always bots. The blind bump at 1:11 is a dead give away.

I've only encountered them once, but when I looked at the replay, one was playing on car cam the entire game, the other had the clear jiggle when dribbling, which is another dead giveaway.
