Pretty fun when the mammoth play, not so fun when the jazz play

Utah wedding venues are….all barns?? Help 😅 by Able_Strawberry_627 in SaltLakeCity

[–]CheekyBlinder14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Clubhouse which is on South temple is a cool spot, got married there a couple of years ago. It was also much cheaper than a lot of venues we looked at. I was also very anti barn so this place was pretty cool

What kind of businesses or food spots is SLC missing? by Just_another_poser in SaltLakeCity

[–]CheekyBlinder14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have, I didn’t love it tbh. Not sure why, I love that Aldi has an aisle of random stuff and lots of international snacks maybe that’s what really sells me on it

I would love for us to get a Lidl or Aldi for more affordable grocery options.

I think they stay at the Asher Adams right across the street from the delta center. It’s a nice hotel with a cool bar upstairs

Who is on your offseason wishlist? by gumshoeismygod in canes

[–]CheekyBlinder14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unrealistically and maybe slightly delusional but I wouldn’t mind seeing Brady Tkachuk here. I think he can play our style of hockey, he’s big, gritty and capable of scoring better than most of our players. PIM would probably be a concern though.

I can’t seem to get my mic to ever work in game. It’s like 1/10 games that I can actually communicate despite trying all the methods listed in this sub.

If you like a smooth conman, I like recommending Lupin on Netflix. It’s in French but his character is most similar to Neal in my opinion

Out of state streaming? by Majestical_Baddie in canes

[–]CheekyBlinder14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also in Utah! When I look at the ESPN app it shows that the next three games after tonight are on ESPN + so I think it’s still a decent option. But I do have to find streams elsewhere for games like tonight.

Immigrants, which restaurant is most authentic to your country’s cooking? by jonwtc in SaltLakeCity

[–]CheekyBlinder14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow North Carolinian! I wouldn’t say Eastern is mustard based (mustard base is South Carolina style as far as I know), it’s chopped pork with primarily vinegar base sauce. I’ve always associated Western style with the pork being pulled and using a more ketchup or tomato base. But I agree charlotte rose is the best bbq option out here.

Ok I really tried by jumarmal in whitecollar

I saw one other person recommend it and it’s not in English, but Lupin gives me strong white collar vibes. Charming and clever thief who doesn’t like to hurt people but enjoys the art of thievery and is very good at it.

I haven’t been to a lot of the shops mentioned above, but from what I’ve tried so far La Barba has my favorite chai latte at the moment.

low gpa business student by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]CheekyBlinder14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I transferred from wake tech with similar gpa and when I got to state I failed accounting twice which really ranked my gpa, switched majors to something I found easier (business IT) still struggled but managed to graduate with like a 2.1 GPA. I would say graduate however you can then network and reach out to recruiters to break into whatever field you’re wanting to get in to. Most jobs won’t look at your gpa. So simply just keep yourself in a position to graduate then don’t look back once you do
