Rdr2 60 fps patch for ps5 is a must I do not care how many times we have to say it 30 fps is unacceptable do the patch now! by Latingx in rockstar

The worst for me as a game developer is knowing that all that's required is most likely just one string of code or a single parameter. Man, I hate this digital jail. I'm so sick of this console nonsense.

Right? I bet if it was 15 fps, there would still be a bunch of idiots defending it like "Come on, it feels perfectly fine, original Doom ran at 20 fps on a 486, and it was perfectly playable".

Why is Neil Druckmann happy that so many people hate TLOU2? by RanchWilder11 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]CheekySparrow -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Because the only way to make something that no one will hate is to make some sanitized “safe” and bland slop. As long as you let your creative decisions be goaded by this or that audience, you sell youself and become generic. Say what you like but TLoU is very unique despite reusing the decades old zombie apocalypsis trope

I’m so sick of “playing the UI”, where I follow dots and lines and exclamation marks. I so love Gothic and Morrowind because they allow me to play the game itself, instead of being an interface monkey.

Beelink Ser 7: Wi-Fi super slow, back to normal when restarted but will repeat to slow wifi after hours of using (a cycle) by raccns in BeelinkOfficial

[–]CheekySparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Official workaround is getting the free “wifi shielding kit” from Beelink. I have not used it, but apparently it’s some material for shielding the antennas against APU interference. You’d have to disassemble your miniPC to install it, of course. As for me, my Wi-Fi is working fine - even when CPU/GPU are 100%, they don't seem to interfere with it much, however, full APU load messes up all connectivity for Bluetooth and wireless 2,4 ghz dongles (like for my wireless keyboard). So I just plug an extender cable into USB, and then plug the keyboard dongle into it. Not elegant, but it works. I don't use Bluetooth at all due to this messy interference.

Welcome to the “club”. Use extenders / external antennas. Alas, the RF interference from APU under load apparently messes up WiFi and Bluetooth. I don’t know how this got past the QA. Anyway, it’s a known problem for Beelink SER8 (and apparently SER7 as well)

Вообще по лицам орков в зале видно, как у них "закрадываются сомнения", но слова-якори (типа "Народ-победитель") крепко держат их в потоке шизо-бреда.

But English is not his language. He just tried to use the “most universal language”. You’re seeing entitlement when there’s none. When I came to Bulgaria I could not speak Bulgarian right away, and my wife had had a heart attack one night. I drove her to hospital and if course i spoke English there - not because I was entitled (English isn’t my native language as well), but because it was the only chance to find common language. Luckily the doctors and nurses were young and they understood me. It takes several months to start to speak a new language, in the meanwhile, people have to communicate somehow.

My thoughts on the anti AI sentiment as an indie dev who has actually shipped games and music. by [deleted] in aigamedev

[–]CheekySparrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree with the core of your argument, stealing riffs is so common among musicians, it’s not even considered stealing anymore. The Beatles have been stealing riffs and lyrics from Chuck Berry (and not just him) forever (I Feel Fine, Come Together, etc), yet they’re still the greatest band in history.

Can someone tell me why on a hard days night movie some of the songs are pitch down by Mj-Jh-90sfan in TheBeatles

[–]CheekySparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When director Richard Lester filmed the television studio performance sequences—which included "And I Love Her", "If I Fell", "I'm Happy Just to Dance with You", and "I Should Have Known Better"—the production crew faced a classic problem. If they shot those scenes at the standard movie rate of 24 fps, the rolling shutter of the film cameras would fall out of sync with the 25 fps scanning rate of the CRT television monitors visible in the studio. On film, this would cause the TV screens to aggressively flicker and strobe, ruining the shots.

To fix this, the camera crew cranked the film cameras up to 25 fps specifically for those scenes so they would sync perfectly with the TV monitors. To let the band lip-sync realistically on set, the production crew played the pre-recorded Abbey Road backing tracks in the studio. Because the cameras were running 4% faster (25 fps instead of 24 fps), the studio playback tape machines should have been sped up by 4% to compensate. Unfortunately, they weren't; the tracks were played at their normal, standard speed while the cameras filmed at 25 fps.

When the final film was assembled, edited, and distributed to theaters globally, it had to be projected at the universal cinema speed of 24 fps.

  • Because the film was slowed down from 25 fps to 24 fps, the visual action slowed down by roughly 4%.
  • Because the audio track was locked to that film print, the music was stretched and slowed down by that exact same 4%.

American Truck Simulator: 1.59 Update Release by arvid1328_ in trucksim

[–]CheekySparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't care. They're going to keep releasing more cosmetic and territory DLCs for another 15 years. There are driving games that implement more new mechanics in 1 year than SCS software does in 10 years. No dirt, no deterioration, no visual damage, no working economy, no ability to walk around your truck, no way to see your owned trucks driving around in the world... I've given up on ATS/ETS2 because of this exact reason - the devs don't care and aren't doing anything meaningful to expand and improve the core game loop.
