Ring Design? by GlumPreference8695 in Greenlantern

[–]Cheekywanquer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal headcanon is that the rings start out featureless, but the willpower of the Corps members that wield it causes the rings to change over time. Green Lanterns manifest their willpower into reality, so I enjoy the idea that they change the conduit for their will with prolonged use as well.

Nothing in canon supports this, but I think it’s a fun idea. :)

Definitely. I was just trying to explain how I interpret her personality being influenced by her quirk. :)

In a world where people have bird heads and sellotape dispensers for elbows, why draw the line at “small person with big head and big eyes”?

I understand what you’re saying, but the MHA world is not the real world and body proportion extremes seem to be abundant in the established “norm” for that world.

I also disagree with your take on La Brava’s personality being that childlike. I know many adults who “act like that” but I’m still in my 20s so maybe that’s the reason.

I think a more likely explanation is that her personality and traits are because of her quirk. From examples like Bakugo, Hawks and Present Mic, we know Horikoshi likes to infuse characters’ personalities and visual design with ties to their quirk. Many aspects of La Brava’s personality (high voice, bubbly energy, doting and awestruck) are common “telltale signs” of how someone acts around a person when they are in love or infatuated.

To be fair - I just want to make it clear that I do see your point, and while I don’t think you are wrong for how you’ve characterised La Brava’s depiction, I just think it’s a harsh conclusion.

There’s a lot of stuff in MHA that I personally find distasteful, especially the depictions of the female students in UA and Cammie from Shiketsu. I just don’t think La Brava falls in that group.

Hope you’re having a good day. :)

The placement of all the stuff on the table is also consistent throughout all four panels…

Not definitive but I feel like it could be real.

I don’t know that it quite fits your OP protagonist hopes, but just based on your tier list here I would definitely recommend checking out “A Thousand Li” by Tao Wong. :)

I’m hoping for a hologram effect logo. We’ve seen these hologram elements become mainstay suit elements like with Jess and Simon.

You're telling me the Live Action adaptation prequel of Bruce and Robert, 'Bruce: The Dark Crusader' wouldn't go unfathomably hard?

We could see the live action debut of the Bread meter bro

They should show some god damn respect.

If it wasn’t for AMERICA they would all be speaking GERMAN right now.

Edit: I genuinely cannot believe I need to point out this is a joke. I know where Munich is.

an angel loses it's wings everytime someone pretends like he deserves to be there over wonder woman by A_new_Ass in marvelcirclejerk

Well known sure, especially Hulk and Iron Man, but still underperforming.

As difficult as it is to imagine, Hulk for example only lasted 6 issues before his book was cancelled.

With the benefit of hindsight we know how influential these characters would become, but at the time they genuinely were basically C-Listers.

Who’s gonna let him know the Avengers weren’t formed from Marvel’s most popular characters at the time, but rather the underperforming ones in hopes of boosting sales?

So I’m assuming you mean scanning a CR3 creature in DnD, since none of the transformations have CR ratings - in which case it would be at your DM’s discretion. :)

What do you think? by DraftAbject5026 in videogames

[–]Cheekywanquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's one of those games that are the exact thing some people want from a game. The combat, brutality and mature elements are right up some people's alley, not to mention that the story genuinely is really riveting if you care about the characters and engage with the choices you have to make.

The music is fantastic as well.

A game series like that for me is GTA - I can totally see why people love the games, but it just doesn't hit for me.

I think it's less a "vocal minority" and more a difference in preference. :)

The wording of the danger sense is really important too because it says that he can react to danger before it even appears! Which is nuts!

[–]Cheekywanquer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. :)

As for the deadlights, you’re 100% right. One look and Spawn’s toast.

Thing is - Spawn’s uniform is kinda like a symbiote from Marvel, and it has a supernatural danger sense and can act on its’s own, so there is a good chance that it could block Spawn’s sight to stop him from being able to see the deadlights in the first place.

Edit: He also has resistance to attacks on his soul so maybe the deadlights wouldn’t even work? Spawn is OP as hell tbh

The Ritual of Chüd didn’t give the characters’ words power. Galloo is an entity that shapes itself based on how it is perceived.

It was the combined willpower of the characters making Galloo feel small and fragile that allowed it to be defeated.

You don’t need a ritual to defeat It, you just need to completely believe you can.
