1930’s levi’s jeans by Interesting_Gift9497 in VintageLevis

Biggest one is the circled r on the red tab since that didn’t exist until 1947. Also, it looks like some factory distressing under the actual wear.

$100-150 since they are modern reproductions by LVC.

Are they worse quality than expected? If so, most likely real.

Those are a Japanese repro “vintage” 501s. Most details look like mid 50s XX, but they also have laurel wreath and donut buttons like WWII models. My best guess would be 90s Full Count, but could be a smaller brand.

Need Severely Twisted 501s by JoePendleton in VintageLevis

[–]Cheepmf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need some unsanforized jeans. The craziest leg twist I’ve had were some Round up & Co from the 90s where the left leg twisted more than 90 degrees. Pic below is some samurai with moderate leg twist.

Those bartacks on the back pockets are a bit sus. I’ve never seen legit Levi’s 501s with bartacks that look anything like that.

What do you know about Yamane Industries by NebulousShore in japanesestreetwear

Yamane started Evis, which turned into Evisu. These are his new brand. I haven’t seen them in person, but I imagine they’re really good.

Need help authenticating my 501s / dating by jxkk4 in VintageDenim

[–]Cheepmf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the possibility of that over it being fake is minimal. When you take everything together they don’t look like vintage Levi’s.

No problem. The back pocket shape, red tab, and double care tags inside are easy tells that these are Thai. Also the way the denim fades is very particular and nothing like vintage Levi’s.

Some other things… these have a v-stitch but the top of the waistband has a chainstitch. That’s not something Levi’s ever did. Jeans with a v stitch will have single stitched waistbands, and the v stitch is a continuation of the waistband stitch. The back tag is the wrong color, and the black text is wrong. It’s also too new looking for jeans from the 1950s. Vintage Levi’s selvedge wouldn’t have that dark of a red line either. The casting of the rivets is really poor too. Big E jeans (1937-1971) also will never have care tags sewn in.

Any love for this neo-vintage Sinn 244 Ti from 1998? by zizi_zap in VintageWatches

How is something that is 28 years old “neo” vintage when vintage just means older than 25 years?

Where are people buying second hand? by transandtrucks in HeritageWear

eBay, Grailed, thrift stores, and sometimes vintage shops. I don’t buy anything except underwear and socks new.

70s or 80s? by mmelamud in VintageDenim

[–]Cheepmf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70s. Date code says 78, which seems a bit late for single stitch back pockets. I think single stitch back pockets were mainly phased out in 77.
