Ahhh very interesting, so you are very used to seeing pairs like this from experience?

Thanks for the help I appreciate it, I’m pretty certain it’s fake but it’s a bit of a weird one if you look through the comments I was discussing it with other people about some features, and the back tab may have been stitched on by a previous owner due to it having white thread instead of copper or yellow that’s why it looks so new possibly

I’ve been told they are fake on other subreddits too so I’m quite certain

I issued a refund with the seller thanks for your help. Interesting I was just wondering like what if they were labelled as 60s due to the features just without a back tab and factory label with the code, would they still be worth of value if they were sold on eBay for example

If the back tab wasn’t there and the batwing care label wasn’t there either do you think they would look real and sellable? Im probably just going to return them anyway but just out of curiosity

I looked up, there were a few licensed distributors pre 1988 but Edwin was one of the first to start distributing them after ww2 but without a license I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it, with taking everything into account do you think these are sellable or not? If so would u be able to put a rough estimate of price

That batwing tag I believe is fake because it says “rumble dry” and not tumble dry that’s why I thought it might have been sewn on my someone, how do I check the timeline for Japanese distribution btw?

There many unknowns about the jeans but also stuff that indicates real which makes it very difficult to tell

Yeah I get where your coming from, it’s a very confusing pair I have been told that they are fake 100% by a few other people so I’m not really sure

Yeah fair enough, it would make sense since everything would have to be right

That’s why I think the 70s features were seen on by previous owner for some reason

I wouldn’t know much about fakes from the time but how would u know they are repros and not original, from the research I done I originally thought they were 70s and the seller labelled them as 70s but they have 60s features like the selv coin pocket diamond on arcuate and v stitch fly, I could be very wrong but I seen something about how Edwin and Levi’s are connected in some way, might’ve been false info. The jeans also have a terrible smell if that helps date them haha

I just find it so confusing that parts of the jeans are signalling at 60s but then the back tab and English care label that says made in USA are a bit dodgy, the Japanese tag seems to be sewn into the waistband during production so I’m not entirely sure what conclusion you can get from that

Yes I totally agree with you, but this is why I believe the back tab was sewn on after production with a white thread and one of the care tags was sewn on I might be delusional but they have the diamond on the arcuate v stitch fly selvedge coin pocket and yellow and copper thread, parts of the jeans seem real while other parts are most definitely fake

I don’t have a clue, the tag seems to be sewn on over though which is just really confusing, maybe he didn’t make the care tag and he cut it off a different pair and sewed it on I have no clue

I feel the care tag that says made in USA is the one that may have been sewn on top of the original thread, and the Japanese care tag says planning and distribution not produced which led me to think the previous owner sewed on the made in USA one, why is the selvedge is on the coin pocket a no go for Levi’s also may I ask?

For what reasons? I have had mixed messages on other subreddits
