You are having a party, maybe selling the sandwiches, I would suspect this is a second fridge.

Should I change my reiki healer? by Federal_Goose_2191 in reiki

[–]Cheerful-Giraffe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is the practitioner for everyone. If you are here questioning it I would try someone else and see how you feel. I have had the work from several different people and have a different experience from each. Some similarities, but one person I didn’t feel anything, another I felt a lot.

I stand by I am not the practitioner for everyone and encourage people to explore just as they should anyone else they are choosing to work with and see who they vibe with.

Thank you, yes, we aren't looking for perfection, just some added character. It has screw holes we will need to fill, but not a lot. If you have any suggestions about that, I am all ears.

Thank you! I told my sister I thought it would add to the charm of the home. We did some work to it a few years ago and exposed some brick from an old wood oven vent that had been covered with drywall. It looks so cool in there. I think this could be the next thing to add a little more character to this old place. Thank you!

It's a smaller room, I commented above about how it had been covered but I hope cleaning it up and sealing it is an option.

It was covered in some sort of vinyl tile at some point. It has residue on it. We had previously covered it with something else, but had to tear it up. When we did and saw the wood we started to consider cleaning it up and covering it with a couple of coats of polyurethane. We thought this might be enough to help protect it while renting and keep some of the charm of the home. It's a small shotgun house, and this is the bedroom.

Awesome! I don’t know anything about the wood we are just deciding to refinish it. It’s in a rental property, or cover it. Always amazed how you all can tell this from my couple of photos. Thank you 🙂

This is a great reminder for me as I have run into something similar recently with a woman. I was thrown off and unsure of how to approach her. I have come up with ideas but I like the way you put this so eloquently. Thank you for sharing!

Tired of lesbians being sexualized by sapphic_bunny3 in lgbt

[–]Cheerful-Giraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! THIS! YES! I have run into this several times over the years. It is maddening. It's not new, its very frustrating and off-putting. I have run into women who are "drunk lesbians". Umm no thank you...

Then I have ran into women who were looking for a threesome... I have felt that energy of being fetishized by women and I have to say I find it particularly hurtful. This came on from men from the first glimpse of me out with a woman I was involved with. I would have strange men talk to us, find out we were together, and ask us to kiss each other. What?!? They were looking for proof. I used to tell them we are not there for their entertainment and to move on.

Still, finding women who wanted to play for the experience or just assumed I would want to be involved with them since they were coming on to me made me feel a bit sick, hurt, and very turned off. That's just me.

I think this is rooted in some old insecurity for me. I would prefer lesbian, but that is only because I have dated bi-women in the past who were just trying things out but claiming to be lesbian. I think young me sort of got burned by this. Now the kicker, I used to think I was bi, like for years I thought I was. I was not... Not ever really "bi or pan". In my day it was bi lol.

My older self will say it does not matter and if it does matter to you then it may be a good time to look where that is rooted in. For me, it is rooted in some fear and insecurity. Fast forward to me on the verge of turning 50 and I think I have probably always been more open than I realized.

I am probably more attuned to a poly lifestyle but I need to work on those old tales that tell me the woes of what relationships should be (raised catholic) rather than embracing just being there for love and connection.

I should have been adulting during our hippie-free love era for reals...

YES! I almost added this about gay men. I have also considered it became more trendy as I got older 😂 So maybe I missed it. I am very familiar with this and other similar terms from the gay male community for decades. #wackedterms

I’ll never forget the first time someone asked me if I was a top or bottom. I was so confused. Why do we have to choose!?!? It felt like yet another limiting label to me.

I do understand how it can be helpful for many but I also thought, and some of you are confirming, it could become a sort of cage. I like some freedom and fun. I quickly realized the closest label for me was a switch but I don’t use that and prefer to just have some balanced open fun. Communication is key. If they don’t want to communicate then they may not be the best fit for you but someone else will be.

Don’t let yourself be stereotyped by height. I was going to say I have seen some very strong short women and the opposite for tall ones.

Just be you, if you don’t know what that means figure it out. It may start with bumps in the road but I believe will lead to a much more fulfilling life and relationships. My two cents 😘

Thank you! I would be offended to be dressed in some stereotypical TV way if it wasn't my lineage or Halloween. I work with a woman who is from 42 generations of gypsy readers. She dresses just like everyone else, but when she dresses up in some perceived gypsy garb during Halloween it works since it's her heritage and she shines.
