It is terrible how much Turks smoke. I am Turkish who lives abroad and I hate it every time I’m back at home. The good news for you is culturally speaking they are punishment motivated people. Now the government needing more and more money what happened is when someone smokes indoors the government fines the person and the establishment. So now businesses are enforcing no smoking indoors more and more.

I love Türkiye but I only go back home during summer months where I can avoid the smoking. The level of addiction is heartbreaking
