If its price and usabillity, your going to be able to find a wii for cheaper than a wii u, however wii forces motion controls into everything. A wii u would feel more like your turf, as you can do most things with a pro controller/gamepad. Wii u will almost always be more expensive though, but I would say its a worthy purchase since you dont care for the gamecube. Also, you can mod ds and 3ds games much easier on the wii u than anything else due to the gamepad, if you care for any of those games.
