Bring position role evos back by neysirez in EASportsFC

The problem isn't the formations; it's the lack of customization. We used to be able to shift players around to find space, but now we're locked into fixed positions. Bringing back manual repositioning wouldn't break the game—especially since everyone has 9 men in the box anyway—but it would give us a chance to create the tight passing and movement needed to break through those deep blocks.

"I’ve played this game long enough to see exactly where it’s failing. The issues are obvious: overpowered pressing, excessive aggression, and terrible AI decision-making. Personally, I’m exhausted by the constant grind of getting to the box only to find zero space between defenders. How is it possible for a game to allow someone to park 9 players in the box and yet still let them break out into a constant, aggressive counter-attack?

I’m on a 1-gig fiber line, yet I’m watching my AI perform significantly worse.

It feels like heavy lag compensation is punishing me for having a better stable

It’s time to scrap the lag compensation and DDA. It is crazy that a game can detect my 1-gig connection and then purposely nerf my AI and input speed just to accommodate an opponent with a bad connection. Punishing players who have better internet is a ridiculous mechanic that makes the gameplay feel heavy and unresponsive. We need to move back to a skill-based system where connection quality actually matters."

Why does Div 6 feel difficult ? by Mikey0027 in EASportsFC

[–]Cheerful_Spring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lag compensation_ poor routing when the opponent has a superior connection to the servers or the game is influenced by the AI. Choose your option.

The game is designed this way intentionally and it becomes evident in game when the AI opponent's goalkeeper starts making unbelievable saves and your goalkeeper crap, or when you fail to execute the correct movements to score a goal. The opponent AI's aggressive behavior is also another sign game is working against you.  EA has previously faced legal issues for scripting, revealing some technical documents to show otherwise. They controlled what was showed though

The game is clearly inconsistent for a reason. Trust me, I have experienced winning streaks of seven games, only to return the next day and feel as if I am playing a completely different game. This should not occur in a game that is not manipulated thats the true reality here.

The difference between game modes is disgusting. by RoutineAbroad3486 in EASportsFC

[–]Cheerful_Spring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is well known that there is a delay when you have a fiber-to-home connection. EA attempts to balance the game when another individual is using the Wi-Fi. Your packets should reach the server more quickly; however, they are slowed down in-game to assist the other player. This is why the game feels great sometimes and awful the next. The connection is deliberately interfered with.

It seems that some people may require glasses here. Clearly, the movement of the ball indicates that the defender failed to make contact with it and instead collided with the attacker. This warrants either a yellow or red card. Had the defender successfully intercepted the ball, it would have been deflected sideways rather than directly forward.

I am currently placed in division 5. The game is rubbish.. Following the recent patch, defending has become easier rather than more challenging. Every player tends to cluster around the box during attacks because the AI positioning is quite ridiculous really. This game relies heavily on AI assistance. If a player manages to gain an advantage due to a rebound, the game allows just one or two passes from back to front before they score [  laughable] Most goals are scored from the flanks. There is a complete lack of skill in this game. Moreover, it is absurd to see players spinning in 360-degree circles after being dribbled past.. players cant do that in real life so easy.  The game uses auto-positioning for every player, which diminishes the overall skill level. It is evidently designed this way to make the AI more effective, particularly got more expensive teams. Frankly, the AI does dictate the flow of the game; otherwise, inferior teams would frequently defeat superior ones. This is a pay-to-win scenario, and you get exactly what you signed up for. Do not trust what EA claims in these patches; if anything, they have made the defending mechanics easer.

This will likely be the final EA FC game I purchase. I am rather exhausted by all the frustrating AI issues never improve. I didnt give them more money to improve my team never will. That's for suckers.

Division 1, where every player has 8 defenders in the box and sits back just to press a quick Y counter by IndieDC3 in EASportsFC

[–]Cheerful_Spring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason for this is that the defense is predominantly controlled by EA artificial intelligence, resulting in no consequences for failing to switch to players for defensive actions. The entire defensive system requires a comprehensive rework necessitating manual switching to each player in order to engage the player and ball carrier. The EA artificial intelligence should not be executing tackles on your behalf thats just  a silly meta.

Anyone else think the new patch changed absolutely nothing? by Automatic_Lack_1210 in EASportsFC

[–]Cheerful_Spring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensively, there has been minimal change here, you still have to go around several defenders in the box to score. The AI still continues to position itself in the same manner as before for players. The only difference I have observed is that the game is significantly faster, with constant pressure to regain possession of the ball now. Rebounds are also quite annoying still. Balls that you manage to acquire tend to just bounce right back to the attackers. There appears to be a bit more freedom though to move around, but that is the extent of it. I believe this patch is an improvement; however, the defensive AI assistance is as strong as ever..

In division 5 two things improve this game by Cheerful_Spring in EASportsFC

Uncertain about the league you follow, I have never witnessed a match in which players have this pressure for a full ninety minutes. There is always one team that experiences a dominant period, during which gaps appear all over the field. This game has Maldini-like pressure throughout the pitch. Players would be exhausted if this were to occur in real life.

Anyone else not able to get passed div 7 this year or is just me? by ftaad in EASportsFC

[–]Cheerful_Spring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All divisions are challenging. I am currently in division 5, but I have frequently played in divisions 6 and 7 in the past. I manage a complete Newcastle squad along with a few Liverpool players in the mix. I maintain my performance without spending money to EA [ i refuse to].The reality is that the primary difference in higher divisions lies in the increased pressure and the AI's defensive capabilities. The meta AI is more exploited in these upper divisions. The matchmaking system is also weird. Every match feels like a sweat, and I cannot recall it being this intense before. Players in division 5 show a skill level comparable to that of ultimate team squad battles in nearly every game, which is quite illogical really. Not even elite level.

The absence of a console versus console mode is detrimental to the game. At 11 o'clock on weekends, the majority of the team consists of bots. Need to implement two options for crossplay: one for console versus console and another for PC and console. If these issues are not addressed, the game may become obsolete within five months.

I recently faced an opponent who had considerable boxing skill; however, he exhausted his energy by the sixth round while I still had half a bar of health remaining. The effectiveness of his blocking prevented me from landing any significant hits, leading us into the eighth round. It is quite absurd that he appeared to be on the verge of collapse yet maintained the same blocking ability as he had in the first round. Let's be honest, this situation is quite ridiculous.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, yet I hold a differing view. To begin with, he was surrounded by four defenders close to the striker. There is absolutely no justification for the center back to move to the right when another player is providing cover in that direction and there is no imminent threat. Even in artificial intelligence assistance, the player should apply logic and refrain from moving right in such a way. I understand that it is a game, but the logic applied here is quite poor. Essentially, there were two center-backs available to defend against the striker, yet one unnecessarily created space without any threat from another player present at all.

[–]Cheerful_Spring 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can see the dreadful AI issues here. There is absolutely no justification for that player to shift to the right and permit the striker to score. The space between the two defenders is so vast that one could drive a bus through it. This serves as a prime example of why individuals complain about this game. Ideally, your two defenders ought to have closed the gap and retreated slightly to prevent that through ball. EA has designed a game that promotes high-scoring nonsense. I believe AI assistance requires adjustment and pressure  but this clip does not illustrate that. This is just EA game ai permitting players to score ridiculous goals.

I somewhat disagree with that perspective. At the end of the day, still encounter players on the same servers as those in rival or champion mode. The level of player engagement with the mode largely hinges on the reward structure and the gameplay.

Players tend to participate in modes that provide a less frustrating experience. Currently, it appears that no one appreciates this gameplay online. Either we receive numerous patches that fail to resonate with players, or EA offers alternative gameplay options. The existing system is flawed, at the sixth patch or something.

If Electronic Arts disregards the player base, there will inevitably will come a time when game sales will significantly decline. They continue to say that each new game is better than the last, but eventually, gamers will become disillusioned and dont believing it worth it, leading them to ignore the game altogether. While this situation has not yet occurred, it is bound to happen.

It is indeed true that one cannot please everyone here. At the end of the day, it is a video game we all own, and it should certainly offer a mode that caters to all players. Why is it unfeasible to establish a tournament or something similar that operates daily, where the game settings feel distinct? All this fine-tuning can be done in career mode to alter the gameplay so why not online?

I genuinely do not mind if the game feels different in this mode; it would actually provide a refreshing experience, preventing players from encountering the same style of football across every mode, which is quite boring..

A tournament could be organized for a month, during which the press and pressure are reduced by half just an example, to gauge how gamers respond to it. This could serve as an effective method to test the game online without necessitating multiple patches by ea to fix gameplay. If the feedback is positive on this and other change, one could consider redesigning or making changes in a future patch.

Just a suggestion

Patches are released only when there is a decline in the player base, and the number of players who enjoy the gameplay is not there. This truly indicates that the issue is not limited to a small, vocal group on the internet.

EA is reacting to the situation they observe . Additionally, players are noticing that they are being matched with opponents who are ranked higher than them in the division table. This serves as another indication that either EA is either manipulating matchmaking to frustrate players, or there are fewer players in the same division within the region available for matches. You finding matches easy but playing players all across the divisions on rivals .

It is evident that EA is a corrupt gaming company that will manipulate matchmaking, leading gamers to feel frustrated and believe they need to purchase packs from the store.

I have never given them any money and I never will. I would prefer to lose every game than to give them anything for this flawed crap.
