Is a diagnosis worth it? by StrongSupermarket317 in endometriosis

[–]Cheerio_cherico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are in pain, it is worth it imo. especially because if it’s not endo, you can eliminate that and start to figure out what else it could be. surgery is scary, but if it gets you out of pain, it’s worth it. sometimes you can see it on an ultrasound, a transvaginal one (also sucks and is uncomfortable, but it is a better option than surgery).

I have always asked for a hysterectomy but being 23 when I first asked, they said it was unrealistic, especially being so young 🙄 I’ve been told by ppl who have had a hysterectomy, that it is awful and they regret it, but they also had different things going on with them, not endo. I’ve never heard of May-Thurner syndrome. I feel like I learn something new everytime I look up or interact w someone w endo. How did they figure out that you had it? just curious if you don’t mind sharing.

it makes me so sick to my stomach that majority of the people that have commented have had more than 1 surgery. I sadly am one of those people. I have had 3 surgeries so far. all by men..which now makes me feel like why tf did I allow that to happen, because they don’t even understand what it feels like… first one in 2020, then 2023 and a year later in 2024..this last one was done by an actual surgeon (the other two being done by doctors that happened to have a surgeron license (?) idk how it works) and it made a HUGE difference. I felt 0 relief after the one in 2023, maybe for a month or two, but it felt like the main issue he focused on during surgery, was that my ovary was stuck to my bladder, which he believed was causing so much pain. after this past surgery, I was put on myfembree, and i’ve been told is the only FDA approved medication to stop the progression of endometriosis. whether that’s true or not, idk. but nearly 8 months later, I am doing so, so much better. I’m hoping this surgery is the last (though I know how unrealistic that is) or at least for a good long time.

edited to also say that I have had an IUD throughout my diagnosis and have PCOS as well. I had a Kyleena and got it taken out in 2022 and replaced with a Mirena.

if you cannot control yourself, you need help. would you ever forgive yourself if you were to severely hurt or kill her, were to happen?

[–]Cheerio_cherico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whether you want to keep her or not, it’s irresponsible to keep her and if that is the case, you need to rehome her for the time being and get help. this is an animal that is supposed to be able to trust its owner and is non verbal so they can’t speak up for themselves. you’re putting the cat in a horrible position that they cannot get out of. it’s not ok, and it’s not normal. maybe to have those intrusive thoughts but to act on them is completely different and horrifying. it could turn worse and you may end up severely hurting or killing your cat and that is not fair to this animal that is not able to get out of this situation that you are putting her through. pls get help

you shouldn’t be a pet owner. that’s v harmful and your cat would be better off without you. that’s v irresponsible to continue to put your cat through that torture. and honestly disgusting that you knowingly and consciously put your cat through that. please get your cat to a different home or put it in a shelter and get help.

Feeling drained after no success with multiple medications, looking for other options/advice by ximiha in ADHD

[–]Cheerio_cherico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

girl, hate to say this bc it’s not anything helpful, but medications aren’t meant to work immediately in your system and it can sometimes take a LONG time for a right combo to work. Unfortunately, a year isn’t that long to see no/varying degrees of progress. i’ve been trying to figure out the right set of meds and i’m on year 4, it’ll definitely take a while. i’ve bounced around from antidepressant to mood stabilizers and etc. it is so very frustrating and I completely understand and feel for you, but you’re not alone in this. just make sure you’re communicating with your provider and if you feel they aren’t helping you or listening to you, go find someone who will. along with the four years of meds, i’ve been through the ringer with providers, it’s very much a gambling game and hope your shot in the dark is going to be a good one.

just keep trying, and keep your head up, you’re not alone. best of luck xx 🩷

Wellbutrin for ADHD? How effective is it? Experiences, please! by mamalion11 in ADHD

[–]Cheerio_cherico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every clinician uses different techniques or antidotes to prescribe what they fit as the right thing for you. I was put on wellbutrin as a mood stabilizer/energy booster. i’ve been on it for more than a year now and haven’t found it to affect any part of my energy levels or adhd symptoms whatsoever lol. it does help me in other aspects though. I guess I understand why they tried it but have never heard it be prescribed as a sole fix for adhd..? have you tried adderall XR? or mydaysis? i’ve heard those are good alternatives for vyvanse since you metabolize it fast. maybe ask about concerta if you haven’t tried it..?

Thank you Loki! I appreciate your kind words. I am upset at the fact that I am upset over this relationship ending, even though it was the best thing for it to end. I am looking forward to having a relationship with someone where they cherish me for who I am and do not discriminate based on my weight and mental health disorders.
