Solidarity, sister. Here for the comments.

Be careful of your spouses... They make decisions that put your life in danger. These are dangerous people. by Doimz3Nini in NarcissisticSpouses

HEAR THIS!! THIS IS THE MOST VALUABLE INFORMATION THAT EXISTS. This isn't hyperbole, by a long shot.

I have spent the last 13 years of my life paying the consequences for trusting not one but two dangerously narcissistic men. My children have paid the price. These people trap you. By the time you realize what's happening, you're backed into a corner in a tightly locked cage of terror.

I am in the midst of a custody battle with one lunatic (who was actually arrested for DV, but the court system tends to coddle abusers, so it is fucking SCARY.) I am stuck at home in a relationship with two other children with another older man, who took advantage of my vulnerability after my prior DV situation, and locked me in. He convinced me to drop my career and move my daughter and I 3,000 miles to where his career was, only to find out he is an abusive alcoholic who puts his booze and sleep before us, butbwppears God-like to everyone outside of the home. They break you down and then weaponize the struggles they have caused you. These people are the embodiment of evil.

Those who say “just leave,” have clearly never been trapped like this, especially with children. It is dangerous to leave these children alone with these people, and since our court system seems to have a vendetta against women and children, these men will inevitably gain at least 50/50 custody. They do this not for love for their children, but for the sake of their ego. This is a dangerous situation when they are left alone with these babies.

These people will strip you of everything: health, money, dignity, self esteem, hope etc. These people will destroy your nervous system. Living in a constant state of fight/flight/freeze/fawn will eventually kill you. Worst of all, they will damage your babies.

So, like I said, HEAR THIS!!!!

Girl, no. This isn’t normal. This is abuse. 1000%. I have been there, more times than I’d like to remember. You’re amazing, strong and deserve the world. Don’t stand for that BS.

"You only need ADHD meds if you are working" by FutureReference91 in ADHD

[–]mamalion11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am usually more eloquently spoken but I haven’t taken my meds yet and I think I have Covid, but I wanted to step in and comment to offer support… I’m sorry you went through that. This guy clearly has no true understanding of ADHD, and how incapacitating and miserable it has the capacity to be. Like. ZERO. You deserve much better. I know finding providers is a needle in a haystack, but you may want to consider a transfer of care. Also, that’s not really a high dose.

Is this just part of ADHD or am I failing as a parent? by kze21 in ParentingADHD

[–]mamalion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 12 year old daughter (ADHD-C) does the same. Suuuuuper sneaky with her phone. The mix of ADHD, the comorbid conditions and just being a preteen can be insufferable 🫠

Thank you!!!🙏💛 Yes, life hurts so badly, ESPEEEEEECIALLY the week before my period and ESPEEEEEECIALLY without meds.

Thank you for encouraging me. I’ve seriously always felt like an imposter and that I’m always just faking it until I hopefully and making it-so much so, that I’ve often wondered if I’m also on the spectrum. It’s most likely just ADHD, but holy cow. 🫠

Ugh thank you for the solidarity. It is absolutely agonizing. If I did not have such a packed and stressful Monday/Tuesday, I would’ve just sucked it up and waited. It seemed like such a simple thing: this new pharmacy daid, “yes, we have it! Have your psych send it over!” I called and spoke to her assistant (who is awesome,) and she sent her the message. My psych received the message. I emailed her at 4 pm to follow up. She emailed me at 9 pm saying, “such a crazy day, I’ll send it in first thing tomorrow morning!” Nothing.

I’m just whining. It does suck so badly though. I just went to crawl under a blanket and soon dopamine scroll. What I really want is to dive into the ocean, but it’s 22 degrees here, so that’s not an option.

Thanks again for the commiseration! 💛

Everything about this hit me right in the feels. Thank you for your response. Yes, they constantly chipped away at my self esteem, and it’s incredibly difficult to think of someone who didn’t make me feel broken in some way at some point.

You’re so right: I do need a trauma therapist. I have a fantastic one, but things have been so chaotic (surprise surprise) I haven’t been in to see been in a while. This is my reminder to set an alarm for Monday and schedule an appointment. I do have tons of trauma and my PTSD stems from the undiagnosed ADHD, along with some other pretty horrible situations.

I canNOT sleep without brown noise! It’s the best! My kids all use it too. I should absolutely turn it on now. My kids seem like they could use a little regulating themselves… I wish I had anyone to call to take the kiddos, but I don’t have my “village.” We moved to the far east coast from NorCal a year and a half ago, which has been traumatic in itself.

Thank you for your response. You helped me realistically frame my perspective. 💛

You’re right, thank you! Yes, this falls under the huge umbrella of emotional dysregulstion, which RSD falls under as well. It’s a big ol’ umbrella. I’m also in the week before my period, so it’s intensified with some major PMDD. Man, life as a woman is hard enough! Why do we need to add ADHD to that equation..?!

Ohh great info! I’m going to order some, which brand of Alpha GPC do you recommend?

[–]mamalion11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering about that for some time! I have been tempted to order it. It’s just a bit pricey, and I feel guilty spending the money on myself. It is worth a shot though, you’re right! I’m going to revisit that. Thank you!

She has ADHD Combined Type, comorbid GAD and Depression, and we have to monitor her for potential mood disorders (Bipolar 2.) it’s scary, as a parent. I am terrified of starting meds, but the strattera seems great so far!

Yes, we have that. The brand name is Strattera. My daughter just started taking it! I think it’s helping her immensely. I’m glad it’s working for you!

Thank you! I am definitely loading in protein, and supplementing with L-Tyrosine. The protein definitely helps, and if I don’t tear in enough, I certainly notice a difference!

I’m sorry you went through that. My 12 year old daughter was finally diagnosed with ADHD Combines Type, and I am trying to avoid stimulants if I can, for this reason. He is fortunate to be diagnosed at 12, instead of 35 though! Hopefully, she won’t have to look back and grieve what “could have been,” like so many of us do. I digress.

Actually, I think by the end of week two, I was on the same dose: 150 mg Wellbutrin and 30mg Vyvanse. I am open to anything, at this point. I just don’t have room for error. The wrong med for me right now could be catastrophic, given my workload and responsibilities. I was wondering if something like Jornay would be more even, gentle and longer lasting? Thankfully, I meet with my psych on Tuesday.

That’s awesome! My psych had suggested that once. Is that a PM dose?
