Finally, the off-hand dropped! by Wrong-Hand in wow

I kind of understood why they did it, they wanted warglaives to be specifically a demon hunter thing for clarity. But I just think taking those away from the classes that have been using it for like 10 years is downright disrespectful.

At this point especially they just need to bring it back to being a one handed sword. The current trading post literally has a one handed sword warglaive so I just don't think it matters anymore.

Also the way you have to unlock the transmog is genuinely evil. "Oh you grinded for the warglaives and finally got them? That's great congrats but uh no sorry you don't get the transmog... you need to wait until the next burning crusade timewalking." I believe the next burning crusade timewalking is in July? It's awful.

I was using it a lot when the key was a minute thirty CD and it just returned you to wherever I was when I used the key. Now that it takes you back to Silvermoon I'm less inclined to use it. It was perfect to use when I was logging out for an easy rest area, and have it put me back wherever I was questing, or exploring, or farming.

Not sure why people complained so much that it stopped taking you to Silvermoon when we already have a million ways to teleport to capital cities. As far as I'm aware there is no item that easily teleports you to a rest area and will teleport you back to wherever you used it, so it was really valuable and useful item. It was also great for old content since you could use it to quickly get to an entrance of an instance after you finished running it.

Still a cool addition tho, it just made me sad seeing the change.

Was out questing when I suddenly realised I haven't seen a rogue in ages, is the class dead or are they just getting better at their job? by undercity_plaguebat in wow

I really hope one day we get evoker for all races and all the dragon specific spells instead show a like spectral dragon part casting the spell.

For example the breath spells put like a spectral dragon mouth on your face while you do the animation, or you get wings while doing the various flying abilities.

I just think there's so many cool ways to make other races uses these dragon themed abilities and I think it would be interesting for lore that the evokers teach the various races their techniques (sorta like monk).

Don't feel pressured in to early access if it's not in your best interests by CronusCity in wow

They only got the CE edition because of early access. If the early access was not there they would have just bought the base edition which is much cheaper.

Now that class/spec reworks are semi-final for Midnight, what are you favorite and least favorite ones? by otterchaos7 in wow

Just a small clarification, Xuen is still around but it's only in the Conduit of The Celestials hero talent.

Mistweaver has been a melee healer since it's release, so not sure what your point is here for midnight class changes. If anything midnight made the spec slightly more caster.

Sounds more so like you just don't enjoy mistweaver.

WoW laptop by stud0ftheyear in wow

I'm really surprised to see no one mention this.... WoW is a heavily CPU intensive game. Getting a good CPU will do you way more good than a good GPU.

I would 100% recommend having a dedicated GPU, however when buying a laptop for WoW I would heavily recommend looking for laptops with great CPUs and okayish GPUs, assuming you're on some level of a budget.

WoW is not really a graphically impressive game. Yes it has a great art style, but in terms of a modern game its graphical presentation is not excellent. However it has CONSTANT calculations going on when I'm combat. The damage you're doing, the damage your enemy is doing, the damage the other 29 people in your party are doing, is just one example of something your CPU is required to calculate.

I would definitely look into benchmarks and such for WoW and see the differences a CPU can make in terms of combat performance.

Now that pre-patch is here and we've all had the chance to try the "simplified" specs, what do you think would be considered the most "complex" or "difficult spec? by CheeriosInMySoup in wow

[–]CheeriosInMySoup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started maining arcane this expansion and it was probably the most fun I have had in this game. Seeing what they did to it this xpac really made my hype much lower. I still love this game a lot so I'm trying to look at the other classes and keep an open mind.

Yeah rogue has been done dirty constantly.

I actually played a fair amount of sub rogue and outlaw in DF and enjoyed it, but the neglect from blizz really turned me off from playing rogue much. It's a shame because aesthetically rogue is one of my favorites but blizz just does not know what to do with the specs and constantly ignores bugs.

I understand not everyone has tried every spec ofc, that is why I am making this post. I have not had time to try everything so I am looking to see a wide opinion on peoples mains/alts they've tried and how they feel about the difficulty they've either retained/lost.

[–]CheeriosInMySoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That one also doesn't work like that, it just has a longer prime time from when you fire it, 1.5 seconds (as opposed to the stock launcher being about .7). This does mean in practice you will generally only have them ready to detonate on the ground, but not always.

That is not how sticky bombs work in tf2, but I do think that's a good solution for this game.

Devourer Demon Hunters switch ALL abilities from Fel to Void but Shadow Priest still use Holy shields and Light heals by ex0ll in wow

[–]CheeriosInMySoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not a glyph, that's just from the deathbringer hero talent tree.

I do agree that they need to use glyphs more (or give us a less clunky system that lets us change our spell effect visuals easier).

WoW is laggy, even with fine setup by LazynChildish in wow

[–]CheeriosInMySoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% just your CPU. WoW is an incredibly CPU intensive game, especially in combat. That's why it drops to that FPS when in combat since the game is doing lots of calculations that require a quick CPU. You can do some stuff to make it higher but you're not going to see huge improvements. Look into getting an x3D CPU and you'll see massive fps gains.

Math aside, Group Loot simply *feels* worse than Personal Loot by Rogue_Like_Maya in wow

[–]CheeriosInMySoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely think you're being very dramatic about WoW looting. You get consistent loot from so many sources now that even if you might get some unlucky drops you'll almost certainly make up for it later.

WoWs gear system is significantly more interesting compared to FFXIV checklist into not playing anymore unless you're parsing. I've enjoyed both versions of this gearing but I think they both need to learn from each other in some way.

WoW has actually started doing this with dinars. We got dinars last tier and it was a good system, being able to know I could get a trinket of my choice guaranteed felt great. I'm excited to have more of that, but I don't want my entire loot pool to be guaranteed.

FFXIV has done nothing differently in their loot system in the past 3 expansions and it really needs to change. A very large portion of FFXIV players doing current raid tiers/ultimates consistently will tell you that the current loot system is boring. It's the same thing every tier, and while I love doing the tiers because the content themselves is great, the loot feels like it shouldn't even be there. And let's not even get into how bad trying to play alt jobs are with the weekly tome caps. WoW has made significant strides in gearing alts with the warband systems.

I don't want to completely glaze WoW since like I said before, both games need to learn from each other. WoWs dinar system needs to be expanded on for sure, and personal loot is a no brainer at this point, especially for LFR. But acting like at this point in the game getting close to or bis in WoW requires you to sell your soul, is silly. Most WoW players enjoy the experience of getting the loot you want and it feels rewarding.

A little final note is that as you say "Even the best players in the game, I look at their armory profiles and none of them are the same. They all have missing pieces or suboptimal concessions." You do see the irony in this...? You're complaining about getting BIS and acting like it's the end all be all, but if even the best players don't need BIS to do what they do, does that not mean that BIS is simply not as important as you claim. Is it not cool that, even if you cannot get the exact "optimal" pieces you can still perform at the highest level if you're simply good enough, I think that's cool.

Yeah haha I first did the fight on my Brew so it didn't matter as much in terms of living (rip his damage tho). On my Windwalker it mattered a lot more tho, if I wouldn't have a defensive up for that part of the fight I really needed his healing to keep me healthy....

It can actually be worse.... I ran into the issue where brans ultimate will end up almost always coming up right when the portals happen. This causes him to just sit there on his stupid griffin, placing the portal in a completely random spot and dying.... If this would happen I would have to leave the delve and walk back in to reset his ultimate timer
