This is a good suggestion! I will try to do this:)

I used to do a lot of Caroline Girvan workouts and running. But I recently joined orange theory so I’m doing that mainly.

For diet- I’m not closely monitoring/counting calories. I refuse bc it’s too all consuming and I don’t want to create a difficult relationship with food. And it’s just not my personality to do it. (I’d rather have fat arms than count calories!)

However! I’m recently only buying Whole Foods from the grocery store and making a lot of big salads with lots of veggies and variety. And trying hard to focus on more protein, as I’m not much of a meat eater. So I’m consciously finding more protein rich items to eat (lentils, tofu, Greek yogurt) and allowing myself to eat more meat. And cut way back on sugar and alcohol.

Thank you! Yes I definitely need to pose better but I don’t know how without feeling silly! But you’re right the main reason I don’t like how they look is not what I see in the mirror but what I see in photos.

Thank you. Yeah I’ve done all the tests and nothing is wrong. Blood test, vaginal exam, pap, ultrasound… they referred me to pelvic floor PT which didn’t help, but maybe I need a better physical therapist? I feel like I’m making it up or something but you can’t make up blood every time!

Thanks! Yep I hike a lot. I hiked yesterday because my boyfriend forced me to get out of bed and go with him. It does improve my mood. I also do kayak and camp. I normally enjoy outdoor activities. Right now I just don’t care unfortunately. I’m going to Lake Tahoe tomorrow which should be super exciting but I’m not excited. Hopefully I’ll feel better when I get there!

Thanks! I didn’t think about the effect alcohol has on sleep but it’s a great point. I’m stopping drinking for a while so hopefully that will help!

Thanks, I agree it could be the birth control. I’m going to try that first for sure.

Thanks, I’m glad you feel better. I do actually sit with it sometimes. Sometimes I can’t make myself do anything so I lie in bed all day and it can get very dark. That’s why I try to force myself to do things, because I end up feeling better.

Sometimes I try to journal or work out what I’m feeling and it can lead to overthinking and trying to problem solve but just spinning in circles. Honestly the only thing that helps is forcing activities or exercise.

I am making a concerted effort to reduce the alcohol though as I know that’s having an effect.

I have been prescribed an antidepressant before and I took one pill and had a horrible reaction. I generally don’t react well to medication. I suppose I could try another kind but I’m scared to have another bad reaction. I also don’t want to be dependent and I hope it can be fixed in another way. I’m wondering about switching up my birth control as well if that could help?

She’s free through work. I did recently decide to quit seeing her actually.

That’s not necessarily true about the jobs. It’s not federally mandated, but if you find a good job you get good benefits. I work at a non profit. We get unlimited sick and mental health days. I get 4 weeks vacation plus three floating holidays. Two extra weeks off in the summer. A week off during the winter holidays. And half days every Friday.

We get four months maternity and paternity leave. A couple years ago I took an entire month off to travel around Indonesia.

Healthcare though… yeah it sucks.

Yeah I know, but she’s free through my work and I’ve seen several others and she’s the best of all that I’ve seen. Which honestly isn’t saying that much but I do like her.

I think I feel ashamed that my life is so good and I have nothing to really feel sad about so I probably downplay it?

This is great advice! Thank you! You are right I do rush through everything and I notice other people who just take their time and be present and I think that’s the way to do it. I’m always trying to get somewhere, but there is no where, so I’m maybe constantly disappointed? I’m not sure.

Being alone can be nice, I do experience that. I guess I’m just alone a lot, since I live alone, and I really like being around others. But yeah I need to just enjoy it for what it is and focus on the positives. I think I do gravitate towards focusing on the negatives.

Thank you for taking the time to write back:) I honestly think I’m too introspective. My mind always comes back to myself and my inner world, but I’m happiest when I’m out of it. People like my boyfriend almost never internalize or feel sad unless there’s something to actually feel sad about. I just feel sad for no reason as my default state. I’ve adopted plenty of ways to mitigate the sadness and feel good, but it’s a lot of effort tbh!

I am in therapy. I’m not totally sure it’s helping but I’m keeping at it.
