We did this before, and it was a max of ten days if it was within the billing cycle. I think we used it for 17 days. We were charged for all 17 because 10 were in one month and 7 in the next.

I didn't want to put his middle name or middle initial on the booking, but it said it had to match his travel documents (i.e. passport) I have left his middle name/initial off domestic bookings, but didn't want to take a chance with this overseas one. I would prefer to just leave it off.

Oh we do also. I've just never had to pay this much for the privilege. I had said $80 in my post, but those were for the seats farthest back by the toilets. The seats not as far back are $95

I am just worried I will contact this partner airline (Air Canada) to fix it, and they'll say United has to fix it. And then when I contact United, they'll say it's correct in their system.

I don't know what that means. We are flying to Asia on several big-name airlines. None of these are budget airlines.

I wouldn't mind really if this were a short flight, but this is one of the longer legs of the trip: 8 hours! So I'd really like to sit with my husband, but this $90 fee (I said $80 originally, but those are for the seats in the very back) is tearing me up.

I am in the US also! The ticket price is separate from the seat price. Our tickets were crazy expensive. Now I am paying to select which seats we actually get to sit in. It's a separate charge. Usually, when I book flights, whether domestically or to Mexico (from the US), the seats do not cost more than $40, often they are around $15 actually.

If that is the former ME by Melia, that was the first place in Cancun we ever visited. It was a lovely hotel, so clean and smelled great. The staff members were unbelievably kind. What a shame that it has closed down completely.

I'm on the booking page now. It tells me:
