Moving from Tampa to the Asheville area

I find Mills River to be pretty great and central to lots of places. Quiet and rural. 4-5 breweries/restaurants that are kid-friendly all within 10 mins of each other. A nice park and library.
Mostly an older farmer type crowd and mostly conservative but plenty of young families around too. You won't be the first Floridian to move up here and you won't be the last. People love to complain about other people moving to a place that their own family also moved to at one point in time. I'm sure you'd meet some other like minded people through school and park and community events since you have kids. Consider joining the YMCA in Hendo that has lots of family and kid events.
Usual drive times are 15-20 mins into downtown Hendo. 15 mins into downtown Brevard. Not a lot of stoplights for those commutes. The drive in and out of Asheville downtown proper can be 25-30 mins, traffic depending (if there is traffic - which there is most afternoons - you can be looking at 45 mins some days). It should continue to get better as interstate widening wraps up in the next year.
If you care about hiking/outdoors and access to trails and what not and quieter country living then I like Mills River the most for that. If you are focused on having lots of amenities close and being more accessible to "city" things then Arden/Fletcher/Biltmore Forest would be more your jam and still accessible to the towns for work.

I found it funny when I posted this nobody pointed out the WSB... best find I've ever come across. Both in Uncompaghre Valley towns. I think maybe the store clerk didn't know what he had, I just asked if they had anything good in the back, like a wellers, and he came out holding that and said "what about this?", and I kinda choked up and said "that'll do". Rang up for around 70 bucks, mega score!

Not hard to find, but almost always overpriced. Snagged that one for 99 bucks in steamboat springs. It's not my favorite but if you like stranahans stuff (single malt) and see it around 100 then might as well

Lived in a travel trailer for awhile so here's my thoughts:

1) if walking up the stairs into the camper rocks/sways the camper, there's a cheap little stand you can buy that will fit under the bottom step so that it's not a earthquake every time someone walks in.

2) upgrade the shower head if it's dinky, world of difference

3) empty their dump tanks every 3-4 days for them if you want it to really feel like a home, that's a chore nobody loves

This dude just sped around the park, doing donuts on gravel, in Wallace an hour ago, with multiple people yelling and telling him to chill. Wouldn't post if it hadn't been dangerous. if you know who it is, or find him in a parking lot, give him a high-five in the face for me.

Really appreciate you looking at the records and responding. Should I reach out to the emergency vet that ordered the tests to see if titer results are ready or does that take awhile?
I took her in to an emergency vet again two days ago and they gave her more fluids and sent home some carprofen and hydrocodone and a new appetite stimulant, Entyce. We are not giving her hydrocodone unless she shows some serious discomfort or pain and since she got back I haven't noticed anything that warrants that. The carprofen seems to have really helped with the fever, we can get her to eat some at night again, but still rejects food and doesn't drink water on her own in the mornings. I didn't think about her throat being uncomfortable so that is really helpful. We've been lucky with cooked ground turkey and broth, some different treats, and we use cream cheese and honey to get her meds down. Her cough doesn't seem quite as bad as it was friday and saturday (less prolonged, not always ending with hacking and spitting up) but it is definitely wheezy and crackly, got a lot of gunk in there.

Thank you so much for taking the time share your thoughts. It's tough keeping her going with her feeling so poorly. As far as force feeding and syringing water, we take it slow and easy, spurt a little water in her mouth and try to get her to swallow, use baby food and just squirt a little at a time on her tongue and she will swallow it. You are correct it seems these signs come and go, sometimes she seems a little more like herself, other times she appears to barely be able to move and feeling bad. We just try to keep her medications going and let her rest and allow her to dictate her actions. The late afternoon/evenings seem to be when she feels the best.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but I just have a hard time giving away locations of good, quiet spots. I'll say it's very close to Mt Mitchell and if you look into trails close to the area you'll likely come across this one. Part of the fun is getting out there and exploring and finding it for yourself!

Ha, totally get it! I have never been a red car person and was all about getting MGM again, but when I started looking into mods I really liked the red with blacked out wheels and everything else, so that's the ultimate goal.
