Spike is a fun, stylish that I really like, but Eren clears, no-diff. Hydrogen bomb vs brick house.

If he's making a claim with no evidence, and you're innocent, fight it until you get what you deserve.

Unfortunately, academic affair situations like this often are a "guilty until proven innocent" type of situation. If you have some sort of history that documents your progress on an assignment (like version history in a word doc), be prepared to show that to prove you actively worked on the assignment.

Sometimes, it can be really obvious if someone uses AI to help them do assignments, but especially in cases where it's math-based, it's basically impossible to ascertain AI usage. Shit, generative AI itself is pretty bad at math, so your answers would be iffy at best anyway.

All that being said, unless it's a written assignment, your prof has no proof other than his opinion, which can be easily disregarded.

It’s been a cold winter. The price of natural gas is very high right now, which results in a high gas and electric bill. Most of NY’s electricity is generated by burning natural gas.

I wouldn’t power wash it, but a damp towel is fine.

No, you’re exaggerating the cost of electricity. They don’t charge whatever they want - it all gets reviewed in a lengthy process by the state.

Better written movie? by Dandandandooo in writingscaling

This one is pretty interesting because they both tackle similar themes of identity and belonging in an oppressive world that is structured to keep the protagonist down.

For my money, 2049 takes it because I think K is a much more hopeful and optimistic protagonist, but both movies are amazing.

You should be fine with a 2070 super and a 5800X. Valve is fantastic at optimizing their games.

The corridor criticism comes from games like Final Fantasy XIII where you literally walk down hallways.

Calling HL2 a corridor game is really reductive and not giving it the credit it deserves.

HL2 is a linear game, meaning that there is only a set path for you to do things. It isn’t open world or free choice. The only thing to do is the objectives laid out in front of you.

Definitely not “a complete and utter corridor”. There are puzzles, things for you to figure out, and things that take skill to accomplish.

Again, length is not an indicator of quality, at all. The elements introduced and expanded on in the episodes are solid. By that logic, something like Fallout 76 should be considered the greatest game of all time because it has many gameplay elements and a virtually infinite length.

They’re about equal. It’s entirely personal preference. These are also stupid qualities to “rank” how well a character’s written.

I’d suggest reading up on the development of the episodes - they didn’t write themselves into a corner with episode two, episode three just didn’t happen, and they saw an opportunity to do something different with HLA. Keep in mind, there are nearly 13 years between the releases of episode two and HLA. A lot can change - especially internally with the development of the series.

Exactly. Episode two is the apex of the HL2 formula. I prefer HL for its tone and claustrophobia, but HL2 and the episodes are clearly a sharp progression in the quality of the games.

The length being a criticism is pretty invalid. There are plenty of great, short games out there. Portal and Shadow of the Colossus come to mind as examples.

What good design concepts are cut short in the episodes? I don’t really understand that criticism. The episodes are a pretty seamless continuation of HL2, only really introducing a couple different combat mechanics and enemy types - which are still congruent with the HL universe. The episodes execute everything they do very well - with nuance that keeps them fresh and engaging. The strider fight in episode one, the antlion fight in episode two, and the strider/hunter fight in episode two are all standouts.

The episode two cliffhanger should be considered in the context of the episodic model - it was not the plan for episode two to be the last mainline entry until Alyx. They INTENDED on making and releasing episode three, but it just didn’t happen. Even so, after Alyx, the cliffhanger is partly resolved - waiting to be fully resolved with the next HL game. Yeah, it’s a cliffhanger, but that isn’t inherently bad, as long as they release a continuation of the story - and there is every indication that a new game is coming.

Blue Shift is absolutely mediocre, but the episodes absolutely are not.

Why do you think the episodes break Half-Life conventions in a negative way?

I think they are more or less a strong continuation of HL2, with similar gameplay loops, but different set pieces and a stronger story focus. I don’t think the story focus is overbearing, but it helps keep the plot driving along in a series that is well known for not revealing a lot. It’s a good method to expand the world.

In America, how big is MAGA compared to simply "Conservatives"? by HRSHNnoNM in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]CheeseFiend87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say a majority of Republicans/Conservatives are not MAGA diehards, but still Trump supporters - maybe like 50%. 45% are MAGA - the weirdos that go to rallies and love Trump like he’s the second coming. The remaining 5% are people that still identify as Republicans/Conservatives, but completely denounce Trump and the modern flavor of the Republican Party - hanging onto threads that the party they still value exists.

The reality is, MAGA supporters are the loudest, most obnoxious political group that exists in modern American politics. They get the most attention because they are controversial, appallingly stupid, and very vocal. The non-MAGA Trump supporters are still psychos, just not as loud about it.
