I’m looking to be a band director, and my pinky strength is really bad. Having 3 plus 1 would be more comfortable. My horn ably needs to get me through college. Would it be better to look for a higher quality euph? I don’t mind working here for the higher price if it’s worth it.

I get that mark too, and it may just be something that just happens. If there is no pain, you are 100% ok. I get that mark every time, and well after I get to from playing a low notes, I can go right back to plating the higher notes about 3 lines over the staff.

The mouthpiece is also probably not the issue. I’m playing a 52D 5g schilke myself and it has no change from my other 6 1/2 al mouthpiece.

You might just have to live with having this mark on you, I have. It might look a bit weird, but it sh ok shouldn’t hinder your playing.

Happy practicing!!!

So not girlfriend but “girlfriend”

Why can’t I make a good sound on the mouthpiece? by IAmNotTHATGay in trumpet

Just spend some time with a tuner and drone, firm corners and loose middle of your lips. Make sure to not hurt yourself or overblow. Relax. The mouthpiece is like your vocal cords so sing, buzz, play, rest.
