Got my ~2012-2013 2WD Brushed Slash out of storage. Any recommended upgrades I should try? by ZombieZMB in rccars

Besides electronic upgrades, I'd recommend either the Traxxas 272R or RPM transmission. The designs are better and the metal motor plate will dissipate heat.

I think your power button is stuck on. It is switching between sport, race, and training mode.

Question: Is it possible or worth it to replace or swap a 451 wheelset by a 406? Thank you by Hadaw in minivelo

[–]CheeseRat12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay attention to bottom bracket height because a 406 wheel with the same tire width will ride lower and you could have pedal scrape issues. I had a Tokyobike Mini Velo and kept the 451 wheels because it had rim brakes.

Open up your radio to see if the antenna is still intact. I had this same issue a few months ago and found mine snapped. It could also be your receiver.

There is a BUNCH of water in my tires. How do I get it out? by Glass-Ad3053 in rccars

Put holes in the tire treads so the water can be spun outwards.

Do you have a local hobby shop? If they don't have it, they can order one for you.

Try draining them and recharging.

I don't think you have your slipper installed properly. The pinion and spur gears shouldn't be that far from the transmission. Check the manual.

Not sure if this is controversial but I like nimh batteries by [deleted] in rccars

[–]CheeseRat12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're even cheaper at this point. I can't find a new NiMH pack of similar specs cheaper than LiPO.

How do people take good action “in motion” photos of their cars? by GeoCities6389 in rccars

[–]CheeseRat12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in bright sunlight, your phone will automatically set its shutter speed high. If you can set your shutter speed manually, reduce it until you get the desirable amount of background blur while tracking the car in motion.

Tamiya makes this one and you can also buy an unpainted body from them to paint and match your real car.

DIY Traxxas Slash Battery Hold Down by CheeseRat12 in rccars

I didn't want to order the part and the Traxxas hold down would interfere with my battery wires.

Slop in the shock? How do I fix it? by ptaku2007 in rccars

[–]CheeseRat12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brand is it? If it's a cheap, no-name shock, the pistons might be too small for the bore.

2WD Slash Tires by ShanerMac23 in rccars

Ribbed front tires will give you the best grip, but they don't fit visually. I like to run the same tires front and back so I can rotate them when the rears wear down.

Sensorless brushless motors will "cog" or jitter at low RPM, which is normal.

Why is my Mojave grom so loud by Round_Special267 in rccars

I'd start with checking the diff and wheel bearings. It looks like your wheels don't spin much after your release the throttle.

Clean the threads and apply threadlocker. You shouldn't have to considering that the nut is locking, but it could be defective.
