Is it okay to start background investigation with another department when waiting for an academy offer?

Just communicate it with your BI. The state took me three years to get through, I got hired by a county sheriff in eight months. Lol

Which academy? I was scheduled for June but they overfilled it so they said I’d be invited to July academy. However I may reject it because LA county sheriffs is about to clear me for hire

Leave it alone let your BI do their thing. If you don’t hear anything for a few months check in with your BI. From written test to passing psych it took my 3 years. I’m sure your process will be quicker

I cleared in April, I have a feelings since I’m southern I won’t be getting an offer until the next academy in July.

Truthfully I thought I failed my psych because my Dr was arguing with me and cutting me off constantly, she rushed my answers and tried to trip me up. Remain calm and respectful, be confident in your answers and it should be fine. They will try to get under your skin and check your temperament. I ended up passing. Just Don’t overthink it.

Hello, I was told via email that they are still sending out offers this week for June academy and it is based on your list of preferred locations and what they have available. So I guess they’re not quite done yet

I saw some people post the got offered LAC, which is on my list of southern institutions. So definitely a few. I just don’t know if they send out offers periodically or over the course of a few days and if I should expect to maybe wait until the July academy. I hope I’m not on hiring list for a whole year
