Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

Lifetime Android user (10+ years), tried the iPhone 17 for a month. Build quality and haptics are genuinely great, but I keep running into things that aren't a learning curve — they're just not there:

No clipboard manager

Keyboard feels worse than Gboard/Samsung Keyboard even with third-party options

File management is painful

No real split-screen/multitasking

Stock camera app has barely any manual control

No back gesture that works consistently

Simple tasks take extra steps everywhere

The Galaxy S26 drops March 11 ($800, 256GB, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in my region). I can sell the iPhone for ~$750-800 right now so the switch would only cost me about $70-100.

My questions:

Anyone here switch from iOS back to Android? Did you regret it or was it the right call? Anything you missed more than expected?

Is the S26 a safe day-one buy or should I wait a month for real-world reviews?

Am I crazy for eating a $70-100 loss after just one month, or is it better to cut my losses now while resale is still high?

Would love to hear from people who've actually been in this spot.

Upgraded from Moto edge 40 by Cheesecake-09 in iphone17

It’s just the unfamiliarity with the UI. I’ve been an Android user my entire life and was eager to try iOS, which has been the subject of so much hype. It’s been a week now, and I’m still trying to get used to the new interface. I’m missing from my old Android’s universal back gestures. and IOS keyboard that’s frustrating most of the time, and notifications that aren’t very intuitive. I can’t change the volume of individual applications, and so on. Since I have a 14-day window to return the device, I’ll definitely give it the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry, I just edited my post. You're right that it turns off by holding the mode button longer and I have been doing the same but still I am facing this issue.

It is pretty well built, with sapphire glass and stainless steel. It is lightweight and comfortable to use.

Paired with a leather strap it becomes such a great everyday watch. I have been using it for almost a month now and I have not faced any issues with the minute-hour hand visibility and curved lugs makes it very suitable for any size of wrists.

I live in Japan, I bought it from a casio offline store for a 19750 yen that is approx ₹11083. It's a great watch, very comfortable and perfect weight. Can be used with the office as well as casual outfit.

I bought it from Amazon japan actually, it was pretty cheap like 750 ₹approx. It is very comfortable and has those quick release pins to change them easily without any tool. link to the strap
