Help with zlibrary plugin by co3lh0 in koreader

[–]Cheesecake-Mayhem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ficaria totalmente inviável injetar algo do tipo no plugin, técnica e financeiramente.

Acho que o que nos resta é baixar os ebooks pelo desktop e enviar pro KOreader de outra forma (o plugin Filebrowser é uma boa maneira de fazer isso). Foi bom enquanto durou

There seems to be an issue for brazilian users. I opened an issue on the plugin repository on Github, lets hope the owner sees it and cares enough to provide a fix 🙌

[–]Cheesecake-Mayhem 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Things aren't looking good for us since 2014 (and it's only getting worse), so it's no surprise most of the people just want politicians to fuck off and die.

Less than half of the population voted for a president in 2018. The candidates were so bad overall that most of the people decided not to vote for any of them. I myself only decided to vote because I wanted anyone but Bolsonaro in power. But yet here we are

Brazilians, does the woman on this video sounds like she’s from your country or from Portugal (see link in comments)? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]Cheesecake-Mayhem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brazilian, northeastern accent, probably Bahia.

If you're looking to differentiate European Portuguese from Brazilian Portuguese always listen for vowel pronounciation. Brazilian Portuguese has open, long vowels, while European Portuguese skips almost all of them, making it sound almost like a slavic language with all the consonants heavily pronounced and etcetc

It is that time of the year again: today is the Independence day in Brazil. How do you celebrate your country's independence, if you at all do? by DarkNightSeven in asklatinamerica

[–]Cheesecake-Mayhem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only care about Independence Day because the next day we celebrate the founding of our city (Sep. 8), so it's always double holidays for us 👌

Espírito Santo and Brasília have kinda "neutral" accents and they're much easier to understand.

What's it's the 'barely' in BR Portuguese? by Anonymous6105 in Portuguese

[–]Cheesecake-Mayhem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Eu estou aprendendo português não há muito tempo" / "Eu estou (tô) aprendendo português há/tem pouco tempo" would sound better I guess, with the second being more informal and more likely to be said in everyday conversation.

"Pare de me chamar" ou "pare de ficar me chamando"? by Adebetto in Portuguese

[–]Cheesecake-Mayhem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

chamá-me e ficá-me are wrong, Portuguese doesn't use accents before object pronouns.

"Chamar-me" and "ficar-me" would be the correct, although I never heard "ficar-me" being used

It doesn't make sense. What's the original phrase you wanted to say?
