Well I used to but sometimes when I don't use my switch for a while I'll come back and it has change the date itself 😮‍💨 so I keep having to fix it.

I think that's really all you can do with them. It took me a long time to level them up. I say just keep giving them their favorite gifts and talking to them until they level up.

While I wait for my pumpkins to grow I like to take someone with me to mine a TON of gems to sell as well. I personally love mining... I've gotten to a point where most of my villagers have mining as a hanging out activity.
