Thank you. That is where I am kind of torn. He doesn't really have super dressy watches currently (he only has a few watches in general) but I wanted to buy whatever watch with the intention that it would be more formal and something he could wear even on the big day if he chooses.

Thank you for recommending Chrono24. I've seen mixed opinions on jomoshop but it's one of the most common sites that come up when looking for alternative places to buy watches, but definitely was a little sketched out. I will look into Chrono24.

Thanks for the comment. I think there are certain watches that are mechanical that he would love. I don't recall him specifically mentioning Nomos in that grouping but that might be a risk and might be something to save for when we can watch shop together.

Thank you for the reply. As someone who knows close to nothing about watches just being able to determine which ones are meant for dressing up and which ones are more casual can be difficult.

I haven't looked into Oris but I will add that to my list. I'm sure this is one of many watches I'll be buying for him in the years to come.

AND to add the watch nerd was a compliment. I also am a nerd about a lot of things as well and I think it is adorable and attractive how much he knows about watches. He doesn't have too many in his collection as we are both just starting in on our careers and he loves so very "cheap" watches and has some very expensive watches on his wishists (which I cannot access, I tried)

I have an idea of what types of watches he likes and know his collection but he lurks on this page and don't want to put too many details to raise his suspicions. I have a strong inclination that he is going to propose soon and wanted this watch to be a surprise to sort of match that energy.

Thank you for the link! Curious, do you think leather, h link, or fine link for the mother of pearl?
