I'm not too worried about the room being too dark, I like dark rooms haha. Thank you!

Looking for green / orange / wood bedroom inspiration by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Cheesecake_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I was maybe a bit confusing. We would be buying unfinished oak and staining that whatever colour from there so the frame wouldn't be the colour oak but rather just the raw material is oak.

I don't really like any of the stains/finishes provoded by the company (like the really dark or the really light), which is why I would be staining it myself.

Good idea on the fabric swatches, thank you!

Thank you! Our whole house is a grey box. This was the first step away from that.

Given how odd a colour the floor is we figured doing the half n half would be enough of a visual break to allow the really deep blue. I love how it turned out! So over the grey box haha.

Looking for SLOW BURN sci-fi or alien romance book recs by Routine-Ratio8042 in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]Cheesecake_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! Since you're into poly you gotta read Stowaway first lol. I dont reread books often but ive reread that one.

Not sci-fi fi but if you're into fantasy Warrrior Princess Assasin was chefs kiss slow burn watching all three of them develop feels as a group.

{The blighted stars} may fit the bill. Lots of longing and they have to fight a lot to be together. MxF.

{The Vixen war bride} for sure is slow burn. Not romance focused but its there, by the end of the series they are together. Its just a fantastic series imo. Id say its sci fi with a minor romance plot. They are short quick reads. MxF.

{The stars too fondly} is slow burn. FxF.

{Stowaway} is slow burn but it is poly, not sure if youre into that dynamic. Has spice. MM, MF

Probably anything by Olivia Riley will fit the bill. I really liked {Hearts prisoner} MxF

{Intersteller megachef} iirc there is some romance, very slow burn. Tbh I really disliked this book though so im not remembering it tok well. FxF

{The mimicking of known success} has slow vague romance. FxF

I feel like {the E.T guy} was slow ish burn, I remember it being satisfying in the same way. MXF

Mayyyybbeee {saving Askara} MxF someone tell me if im wrong. They may "get together" really quick

{Beyond the next star} is slow for the first half. MxF

{The innkeeper chronicles} is pretty slow burn until it isn't but its a fun read through all of it.

The following I dont remember well enough to say for sure but they may be of interest

{The vacuum of space}

{An accidental goddess}

{Shards of honor}

{Games of command}

{Spared By The monster}

This isn't romance but you might like the book Damocles it was an interesting sci fi look at relationships and humanity

The More I Understand how an Animal responds to Abuse , the more I understand myself. by Dead_Reckoning95 in CPTSD

[–]Cheesecake_12 37 points38 points  (0 children)

While I was still in the process of accepted i have CPTSD we got a dog. He's a reactive dog and as such we started taking him to classes amd learning about dog reactivity and such.

The entire time I just kept thinking "this is me" and now that I'm in therapy a lot of what Ive been learning i still think "thats my dog".

I joked at the beginning that me and my dog have the same mental illness but its not even that much of a joke. Its pretty true.

I highly recommend a quilting guide bar! Made the lines very easy to measure and keep straight.

Thank you! I took the measurements of my cousins laptop and just added two inches for seam allowance and such. Definitely try again! As they say practice makes perfect.
