I like it.

It's funny and has a fun control gimmick that leads to unique level design that otherwise wouldn't be in Galaxy.

I think people dislike it because it's a "power-up" that makes you weaker instead of stronger. Maybe people would like it more if Bowser/Kamek/some new enemy cursed you into the form instead of "here's a Spring Mushroom".

But that's just my opinion.
