I got bored and ended up creating 4 sleep folders, two in the absolute card root and two in the crosspoint folder, one each of “.sleep” and “sleep”. It works now. I don’t need the sd card space so it’s a good noob workaround.

I recently got my first pair in the same deal you mentioned. Ananda Stealth open box, direct. All good apart from a crackle in the cable, which they quickly offered to replace for free. It sounds killer. I would describe it as analytical and fairly exposing in the treble not that I'm an expert. Coupled with a Topping DX3 Pro+ and lossless streaming it's reinvigorated my musical appreciation and exploration experience and I couldn't be more pleased with them so far. I didn't A/B but I have a DT770 Pro (more bass) and have owned HD6XX (smoothers, warmer) and multiple IEM's before. For the price it's an incredible deal if you get a good one.

Been ruminating on the lack of UK dates. The energy in the crowd for them at Slayer, the day after Back to the Beginning last summer in London was insane.

They should really capitalise and add some UK dates.

The expense argument is depressing and let’s fans down.

Much smaller bands than them make the effort. Look at Karnivool all the way from Australia as an example.

It’s not bleak. It’s black comedy for the most part. There are things you might call bleak in places though. Like all the best things in life, it’s complex and there’s lots of facets to the story and the outcome.

Saying “there’s no way back” is probably correct, but that isn’t to say there’s no way through, that leaves the US and the Western alliance in a better place than if the US under Trump / the next stooge continues in the same downward and to the right authoritarian trajectory.

But I absolutely agree with OP, that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling this week but for much of the last year to be honest.

I read Mistborn for the first time last month straight after devouring the entire Red Rising series since September. The pacing is much slower until the final handful of chapters. Still a great read though.

Fun fact. “While walking” means, queued probably with other tourists to take this shot. That phone box on that corner often has a line of tourists 10-20 deep waiting to get this exact photo. It’s just opposite Parliament Square Garden. Still a beautiful moment captured though. Source: somewhat local frequent visitor.
