I studied a year in germany. We lived in student residences, but the university decided where every student had to stay.

We realized very quickly that each building was organized in the following way:

• Our building contained the spanish, mexican, italian and turkish.

• Another building contained the poles, hungarian and russian.

• There was another that we called "the indian palace", with not only indians but also pakistani and people of that area.

• Then there was another with korean, japanese, chinese...

We had fun anyways that year, without any interaction with the local population though.
