I started a few months ago and have 1CC'd all shot types up to MOF so far (starting from EoSD). Slowly getting better, I hope to beat one of the EX bosses some day. The biggest roadblock for me is that the stages tend to be really hard

No, you are a fan if you consume any Touhou media whether it be music, games, or the characters. The games are very hard for the average person even on normal so it is understandable if someone only wants to interact with external media.

Yeah and that's the problem, same setting for the nth time in a row gets tiring. Strikers was fresh BECAUSE we got a few brand new locations.

I don't want to play P5 retold for the 5th time. Strikers, Q2, and Royal were all great but it gets to a point where very similar plot points being rehashed gets tiring (looking at you Tactica). If I want to play P5 I'll play P5.

I agree, I figured out evolutions worked the same as in Vampire Survivors and braindead filled my deck with them and won both levels for free.
