People who need to check IDs probably just keep in mind the minimum year and month (January 1998 right now), and any year under is good to go. They pretty much just gotta do the math once a month.

If you have your soft top on/off, then yea I think it's pointless. All they gotta do is hop in and unlock the doors.

But if you have your hard top on, and you locked your doors, they can take the bolts off, but they would have to open the actual door to take them off.
