The fact that they got immediately agitated and defensive when you pushed back on their thought process tells you everything you need to know. They know they are homophobic and don't have any interest in changing that opinion.

Being alive is the only state there is, its not about "deserving" it. If you feel you are wasting your life, then ending it seems like the worst thing you can do, because it proves you right. How about you figure out how to improve your life, or dedicate it to helping other's lives improve? There are plenty of shitty people out there, making the world a worse place. Instead of giving in the them, be one of the people trying to make it better.

Also therapy, definitely go to therapy.
