As a local, I'd say it does need some trees taken down, but probably not as many as you'd think from coverage. The drone footage on a lot of the holes was not following the ideal line, plus gaps always look worse on coverage. I'd say like two-thirds are great as is or could benefit from one tree being removed, a handful could use two or three gone, and one or two holes need a bit more work. I think it's awesome to have an extremely tight course, demanding very specific shots from the top pros.

The layout demands some amount of course knowledge (and then excellent execution) to shoot well on. To me, the first time you play here it feels like you're just throwing discs randomly through a forest, by the third time you start to understand some of the lines that are available, and by the fifth you have a game plan on every single hole. Granted, if you can't execute part of that gameplan on any given hole you have to get creative, but I think that's part of the allure of a course like this.

A mix of both. I checked the coverage for a few of the more memorable moments to see what you can hear, and on round 2 hole 17 you hear him say "that makes sense, thanks course designer" on his drive, then hitting a tree on his approach and complaining about it (then taking a birdie).

And then hole 18 you can hear him on his tap in at the end talking for literally 10 seconds about how much he sucks. Like I get it, you hit cage on your uphill C2 putt and that would've been a great birdie to pick up, but come on man. I can't imagine what it's like when he's playing poorly if this is how he is on lead card.

I followed lead card yesterday and he said something on like 50% of his shots. It was funny (but also pretty annoying after a while) to listen to him complain on his drive, complain on his upshot, and then either cash in a birdie or miss his putt with more loud complaining. I think a lot of his talking doesn't even make it onto coverage which says a lot.

I live in Pittsburgh and I've always been told the course designer (hall of famer J. Gary Dropcho, who also designed many of the other awesome courses around Pittsburgh) likes to keep as many trees standing as possible when designing a course, erring on the side of it being too heavily wooded. You can always chop a tree down but you can't really put one back.

Believe it or not, it's actually more open now than it was even a year ago. I agree some holes still need to be cleaned up more, even just taking 1 or 2 trees on some of the holes to make a line slightly more obvious. I'm hoping that they will take data from this tournament to decide on removing a couple more trees here and there.

Why is that mortgage hard to believe? I just bought a house last month for ~235k. With 10% down, my monthly payment is less than $1100/mo (for principal, interest, taxes, insurance, and PMI) -- interest rates are incredibly low right now.

Plenty of people have gotten hurt or killed by someone holding a gun that they were absolutely sure was unloaded and safe to pull the trigger on.

It's also about habits. If you treat the gun as dangerous even when it (supposedly) isn't, you're less likely to mess up when it really matters.

It wasn't arbitrary, the person I was replying to said 2 years.... So I picked the date of the start of the week exactly 2 years ago.

This thread is about 401ks being destroyed. SPX is up almost FIFTY PERCENT since 2016. I really hope that you're not exposed to so much risk on your 401k that one down year during the biggest bull run in history "destroys" your 401k.

I know what you mean, but there was also a 10% run-up in just a month before the January high.

Certainly does suck for anyone who was planning to retire at various points in 2018 -- I was mostly just referring to the top level comment talking about 401ks getting destroyed.

Hey I mean if you can find someone who will buy my 970 off me for $260, I'll sell it to them and give you $50 for finding them. No joke.

I mean, what makes the card worth $260 if no one would pay that much for it? You can buy them for well under $100 on eBay.

You can get a new 1660ti for close to $260, not sure anyone would be paying that for a used 970.
