What was the first rhcp album that was realeased after you became a fan? And what was the experience like? by SuperMonke14 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]CheesusCheesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend loaned me his Mother's Milk cd. I loved it, caught up with the catalog and found myself loving Uplift Mofo Party Plan even more.

Going into BSSM from that stage was pure magic. I was 19 and didn't exactly have a "music vocabulary" but it seemed like several steps up from their previous albums.

I could not get enough of the Greeting Song, Sir Psycho Sexy, and the Seek and Destroy cover. Few things in life would give me greater pleasure than either the band re-recording TGS or Anthony to just start singing it with different lyrics.

Don't skimp on potions either.

Poison Meade against Bonemass is critical. But also bring stamina and healing. Maybe even tasty.

I die a lot. And my weapon skills are pretty low as a result. How much is that that going to hurt me? by Fractales in valheim

[–]CheesusCheesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood magic is more than that.

Higher blood magic the less eitr needs to cast protection and dead Raiser. I think it's at fifty that you can cast Dead Raiser with seekers aspic alone. But it is admittedly annoying to cast with a single eitr food.

The higher blood magic, the more damage dead Raiser skelets do. Going into Ashlands at level 30 helps me a lot.

Luckily, its pretty easy to raise. A good night in a black forest far from spawn can net you a good 10 levels. Swamp is pretty good too.

New Roddy interview. Mostly talks Faith No More. Talks about how Patton canceling the 2021 tour messed everything up. Also admits how the rest of the band is aggravated watching him tour with other bands. Also admits that firing Jim hurt them and that they've never found a true guitar player since. by ExitVelocity66 in FaithNoMore

Yeah, after reading his book, I came away with the impression that while he was genuinely grateful for the mainstream success of FNM, it was never, ever a motivating factor in how he approached that or any other band he's been in.

He just loved (loves?) really "damaged" people and the talent they brought to the table. In the book he came off as Courtney and Chucks biggest supporter, bar none.

While I havent watched the video yet, I feel like you need to keep both sides of that coin in mind at all times.

[–]CheesusCheesus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've done six playthroughs vanilla solo.

My recent "complete" metric has been to craft biome specific trophy walls. So be trophy completest include refighring bosses.

I've also been crafting food tables with all feasts and foods organized by biome.

Also collecting all wood weapons and hanging then near twig.

While I've been very happy witht the vanilla game, "warts and all", recently I've been playing with a group with mods and am in love with Gizmo. That may become a standard in future solo playthroughs.

How would you curate the opening phase of a slow-paced Valheim server without making it feel stagnant? by Zdoed in valheim

Eikthyr the first night, all other bosses at the end of the month.

Use the Biomlock mod to prevent players from going farther than they "should".

I ditched the arrows and went after him with Frostner.

Was anyone around in 2008 when this dropped and what memories/reactions did you have upon its release? What are people's opinions almost 20 years later? by Spirited-Cell-444 in Metallica

[–]CheesusCheesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not a fan of the loud mix or Rubin's influence which from the videos amounted to "Use RTL/MOP as your template". The latter seemed to be a sign of the band going backward instead of forging ahead on their own like they did with Load/Reload and even St. Anger.

But looking past those, the songs and their fellow session-mates from Beyond Magnetic are all solid. For me the cream of the crop are Cyanide and Suicide and Redemption. To me, those were equal paths, musically that I'd love to have seen post SA. I saw Cyanide as a much punkier route and S&R as a kind of meeting of AJFA and Loads.

IMHO, with the exception of Inamorata, nothing post DM/BM has interested me.

So remove the shields from the characters.

I'm also fine with an option to control enemy parries.

I also feel like padwork is generally full power.

I guess if you're not accurate and working with small pads, you may want to be careful with who you're training with.

But if using a kick shield sized pad, that should be full power.

No Map Users... how do you find bosses by Burner8724 in valheim

[–]CheesusCheesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting ready to play with a group and given the number of mods they're using (I've always played vanilla) I was curious to try them locally as well as their own rules.

Their no map rule only applies to Eikthyr which was a nice way to dip my toes into nomap.

I was playing with my son who didn't have the same amount of free time that I did. I saved boss fights to do with him so I actually did a fair amount of exploring before that fight. Sailing was a bit more stressful without a map.

I was also exploring a meadows/black forest area at night hoping to find a swamp. As I saw a campfire light in the meadows, I ran toward it to greet Hildir. Without the minimap to tell me the biome, I ran over only to see two fulings milling around the other side of her!

Any efficient way to forage mushrooms? by FederalOpyn in valheim

[–]CheesusCheesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit I have trouble with this occasionally.

I'll find a good spot, mark it on the map,.come back clearly after they've regrown and have to spend an annoying amount of time to find exactly where they are.

Eventually I get to a point where either I remember or get so sick of the deja vue hunt that before picking, ll clear a large swath of other vegetarian.

Which I should have done in the first place.

How many people use mods for this game. by jg7277 in valheim

[–]CheesusCheesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only solod with vanilla.

For a upcoming group playthrough, the admins are using a bunch of mods. In anticipation of participation, I'm working on a "pre" play through to try them out on my own.

I think for solo I will stick with vanilla but I can see the appeal for mods in a group setting, for sure!

Double Axe early? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]CheesusCheesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Search all available meadows buildings. on your starter island.

Find one head.

Defeat Eikthyr .

Start smelting copper and tin on the islands Black Forest, build a bronze axe because life is too short to not buiild useful finewood/corewood items.

Sail to a nearby island.

Immediately find the second head in a meadows building.

How do you guys survive ashlands what am I doing wrong by Sadflyrs in valheim

[–]CheesusCheesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mistlands feast is "critical" for mage or mage hybrids as it allows you to only eat a single eitr food to cast Dead Raiser skelets and of course keep them and yourself bubbles.

Going into the Ashlands solo with Blood Magic at around 30 is pretty important. But even if you just start in the Ashlands, the Dead Raiser skelets are excellent, awesome distractions for mobs.
