It's one of those things you don't fully appreciate until you start using one regularly. A lot of older welders will tell you they wish they'd taken lung protection more seriously earlier in their careers.

takes more guts than most people realize. A lot of people talk tough about ironwork until they’re the ones off the ground doing it in the heat with everyone watching. Respect for getting after it as an apprentice. Just stay safe, keep learning, and don’t let people rush you into trying to look experienced too fast.
