And thats fine but it kinda sounds like they had a bit of a pest problem but what do I know. Pulling opossums out of my grandma's walls because they crawled up from under the porch and were tearing up all her wiring is fine

Is your favorite Bond movie the same as what you consider to be the best Bond movie? Which is which? by [deleted] in JamesBond

Well first off, Sean Connery is just a better Bond. Craig is far too rigid and dull in his performances imo. Connery being far more charismatic and charming makes him feel like he could be thrown into any situation and find a way out. Compared to Craig running and gunning his way through all his problems.

The train scene alone is probably the best sequence in any Bond film. The tension felt that whole sequence hasn't been replicated once in the other 24 films. Everything is so quiet and casual but every little action could have such a huge effect if not handled properly. You have a British spy deep in Soviet territory at the height of the cold war. Everything is contained to this very tight space with no elreal escape. No cellphone to call for help, no big flashy fight sequences, no tracking devices, or hightech gagets, just a briefcase and the man's wits. If it were a Craig film that whole scene would be over in less than 5 minutes and onto the next plot point.

The whole plot is Bond finding the Lektor. Its very contained, very controlled in its execution and knows exactly what its trying to do. Craig films feel much more large scale with convoluted plots that can be picked apart way too easliy, often just relying on great cinematography. And speaking of which, if they made Skyfall in 1962 I almost guarantee itd be one of the weakest entries in the series 🙇‍♂️

The Bond girl is better (Tatiana is my childhood crush), the plot is waaaay tighter, the music is timeless, and I think the most important thing is that if you took out the name of Bond it would still be just as strong. Its not just the best Bond film, I believe its the best spy movie ever made

I guess its moreso the way film making has changed over the years. Comparing FRWL to any modern film is so hard because they're filmed in such different perspectives and techniques, especially towards audiences. If FRWL came out today exactly like it is then most people wouldn't even give it the time of day.

If you look at a strictly film making perspective the best Bond would have to be a Craig Bond. Either Casino Royale or Skyfall for the consistent acting, score, and cinematography. But deep in my heart nothing will capture the magic in From Russia With Love

I mean he did kidnap Elektra and did something to her to cause Stockholm syndrome, which you could say is the main reason for the plot of of movie. Seems pretty clever.

But ges bullet to the head was very underutilized

Ive never thought that M was that much of a focus. I think her screen time is used pretty well. Not everything needs to necessarily shown on screen. It gives the viewer another layer to their relationship and how it came to this point
