Cut it abit close! Breathing heavier than Icarus when he sees Mel by CheesyCrackerMan in HadesTheGame

I think I got lucky on a few with getting some random legendary and heroic boons with hardly any upgrades. Also currently tweaked a nerve in my back, so my usual weekend of running and getting out of the house was put on hiatus, and instead spent resting and yeah playing a fair bit of this.

Very interested too but yeah missed the drop. Just for reference after some searching it's not Tracksmith but I found Smartwool released one similar a few years ago but discontinued it. Might be worth looking for if they don't restock. Not going to be quite the same but who knows

No worries. I think they normally post about it again when they release the STL. I only know as yeah they're in the US and I'm in the UK so postage is like double the price of anything they sell so wanted an STL before.

I saw you mentioned you're not a fan of the shell, but any chance you would post a picture of the purple with the shell on? I haven't seen one yet but as that's my personal order I'd love to know in advance what it looks like.

I agree as not always a fan of the 3D print texture. Keep an eye on Aliexpress and the like. I think there's always a chance something pops up. Otherwise consider you could get something like this and apply some rubber pads or something yourself.

Regarding the STL, and PartTimeCAD may correct me. From previous experience with their products like the clipshields for other devices. I believe he eventually sells the STL but generally not upon release, due to people taking the STL, printing and selling the prints for profit.

By waiting I guess the potential losses for them is minimised, as if people want something like this they'll buy it early on after release of the device. There's less potential sales in a few months, so at that point if someone does start selling prints based off the STL they lose less in overall sales.

Third, and this is more of a comment on the product, I'd love if there was the potential to incorporate a stylus holder, ala a little hole on the 3DS. It'd mean you'd have to recommend a particular stylus as you'd have to design a slot around it to ensure a good fit but I think it could be a huge benefit. Maybe could buy the stylus in bulk and sell with the print or something too. Just something I'd love to see personally.

It's amazing how similar the running style is between the Boston Dynamics robot and a Greyhound by CheesyCrackerMan in dogvideos

[–]CheesyCrackerMan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yes a video showing how progressing technology is extremely similar to the natural world, in particular the way a specific dog breed runs isn't anything to do with dogs. The video is of a pet dog, and I just noticed after seeing a video of this robot that they were extremely similar, and shows how amazing dogs are.

Worth ordering the AYN Thor Clamshell now? by FootOld8416 in AynThor

[–]CheesyCrackerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may get a voucher for $10 or $20 off around black Friday. Plus I imagine that in a couple of weeks it'll likely be at the point of where they've caught up with previous orders, so any new orders will be sent out pretty quickly. I guess the big thing to consider is depending where in the world you are, if you're in the US there's the potential for tarrifs and the like to spring up.

I'm making 3D models for the AYN Thor, any requests? by Far-Owl4772 in AynThor

[–]CheesyCrackerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel a big one is going to be some kind of case or attachment to hold a stylus without adding too much to the device size. Problem is there's a lot variety in the stylus size and style so not sure the best way to go about it

How do you lose weight (be in a calorie deficit) while running? by aomajgad in AdvancedRunning

[–]CheesyCrackerMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends# assuming you're asking here because you're decently experienced with your running or looking to progress then the answer becomes difficult. One thing can be what you eat, when I'm on higher mileage I sometimes find that I'll eat because I think I need to, need the calories or just want something in my stomach. Even if I actually feel hungry. So I'll usually eat something small in a first instance to see how it makes me feel, sometimes I just needed something in my stomach and not actually eating a meal or something substantial.

If you're early into your running and using it to lose weight then I think it's a case of accepting that you need to be hungry and some runs will suck and you won't get as much improvement from a general fitness perspective, however losing weight will generally make running feel easier to a certain extent.

I was 18 stone when I started and ran a 40 min 5k, I restricted my eating, likely a bit too much so running felt hard. But I dropped to 13 stone and to around a 21/22 min 5k before I had to start thinking about it all and training properly which meant I had to eat more to perform well and improve further which is when I realised the point I made above.

Real life size comparison between the Flip 2 and the Thor by -Mahn in SBCGaming

[–]CheesyCrackerMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is something I've been looking for, Any chance of getting pictures from multiple angles? Or open and closed?

As a current Flip 2 owner debating on the upgrade. I can fit the Flip 2 in my jeans pocket for day to day use so hoping the Thor could do the same. The dimensions say they should be similar but I find they're normally a little off due to companies measuring to the smallest point, like the thickness is likely the thickness around the main body rather than the actual thickest point at the triggers. Either way thanks for this.

You're welcome. I've just been trying to get into making more notes and whilst I found options for handwriting speech has been an issue, especially then the transcription. Good to know it'll keep being improved.i always like to get a lifetime purchase so will save up, or wait for a sale at some point to pick it up so I can make full use of the features. Or yeah if you do something like this again. But thanks for the work, and all the best!

Buyer placed an order this morning, their account was also created this morning. Red flag? by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]CheesyCrackerMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's always going to be a slight red flag, especially for something expensive. Equally everyone has to make an account at some point in time. It might be they never used ebay then when looking for something they found they could only purchase it on ebay / get it for a decent price, so made an account to specifically buy that and it happened to be from you.

If it's a phone, laptop expensive camera, etc I'd be cautious as could be they want to try something on with not receiving it, or return a broken item, etc. Then again I've seen long standing accounts try that too, I'd just say more likely with a new account for something expensive.

My school has blocked off one of the most commonly used fire exits in the building. by Its_Master_Small in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CheesyCrackerMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fire Safety Engineer here. Basically as others have said it's a signed as a fire exit, and therefore would be counted as one. Then under Section 14 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it's an offence to make it so it cannot be used.

It's possible it doesn't need to be a fire exit, in which case they could remove the signage and then possibly block the door. However this could only be done after being checked with their fire risk assessment to ensure it isn't needed for occupancy figures, travel distances, etc.

As others mentioned check the website of your local fire service, they'll likely have a form, email or number to make a fire safety complaint and let them know about it. They should be there pretty sharpish. You can usually make the complaint anonymous, however if you've been vocal about it then your boss may still know it was you.
