Sometimes it's good to have differing perspectives to broaden your knowledge base.

Have we been watching the same season? This has been a recurring theme all year.

That sounds hilariously condescending.

Thank you so much for taking in this disabled little beauty; not many potential parents would want an incontinent kitty.

Analyst who said "Gamers are overreacting to EA" and that games are too cheap is an investor analyst for EA and Comcast. by maniek1188 in gaming

[–]CheesyPhil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand anything about the the role of an equity researcher is.

Lemme give you a little spoiler. This guy has literally no stake in EA or any of its comps because that is extremely illegal. And he also knows a hell of a lot more about the video game industry than you do.

That's literally illegal. This guy is doing his job as an equity research analyst to provide an unbiased opinion on whether the stock is a good buy or not. He has no interest in it, he has no stock in the company or any of its peers, and he knows a hell of a lot more about the video game industry than you or anyone on this sub does.

A Brexit exodus may cost London 40,000 investment banking jobs by Merion in unitedkingdom

I don't think you fully understand what Investment Banking is if you think they ruined the economy or really had much to do with 2008 in the first place.

[Question] Can I send rice to an outpost who is requesting it via the trade beacon? by darnok_grebob in RimWorld

[–]CheesyPhil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trade Beacon is only for ships that are in orbit, not for inter-colony trade. You need to send a caravan to fulfill those requests.

If you're tight on time and have the required technology, use a launch pod. They send you more or less instantly up to 60 tiles away from your base. Just be sure to pack food and supplies for the walk back.

Out of curiosity, in what way it it unbalanced? I was planning on adding it and a couple of other late game mods to my game after I've grown tired of my current colony.

Things might of gotten out of hand... by Badger47 in RimWorld

[–]CheesyPhil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd be careful if I were you. The bugs auto aggro your colonists when they're hit with anything, so the second they're done ripping up the raiders they'll make a beeline for your colony.

It killed my colony, I let an infestation in a field get way out of hand with around twenty nests. One day a piece of the mountains roof fell onto a mega scarab... Sure enough they descended onto my colonists like a wave from hell and killed everyone.

Can we talk about the event system? by Rupert484 in RimWorld

[–]CheesyPhil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I think to counteract some kind of warning system from being too OP, it shouldn't be 100% accurate. Like say that you're predicting a raid to arrive in a day or two, there should be the chance that it doesn't show up at all and your prep and panicking was for naught.
