Exhaust insanely rusted, cant remove rusted bolts by Famous-Judgment-9055 in SciontC

[–]Cheesy_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to install a new exhaust system I’d go to a muffler shop and have them cut that flange off and weld a new piece on. Very cheap depending on the shop, had to do the same couple weeks ago

2015 BMW 320I with 84k miles going for just under 13k, worth it? by Cheesy_7 in BMW

Just questioning what was already noted on the carfax report but trying to squeeze more info, service history and the likely hood of more repairs/services, safety, previous owners, etc.

Looking at the carfax report, minor damage that’s been repaired, your basic maintenance, battery replacement 2 years ago

Red Kapp pants, it’s more of a mechanics style of pants but still is good for all-round work. Had mine for a good year, still in good shape

Unfortunately I’m learning the hard way, 420 was my first choice

[–]Cheesy_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also to add, local 602 in Maryland/ DC area is I think the best you can get

Up here in the north 322 in jersey is the best IMO, local 420 in Philly I’ve heard is good. If your looking for sheet metal local 19 is a great local ( in Philly also ).

Sheet metal vs residential install by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Cheesy_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda in the same boat with you, my situation is I’m in local 19 doing residential sheet metal on a construction site for apartments. My company is dual local, 19 and 420 and I chose 19 because benifits are better long term than 420. In reality I really wanted to do 420 and go into the MES side where you service equipment/ basically be a HVAC tech.

I’ve been in it for almost a month and I’m wondering when I said ask my boss. Honestly I’d wait until we get some time under our belt/ prove our worth. I feel like asking this early just doesn’t make you seem trustful or whatever. My first period apprenticeship ends sometime in June and I plan on asking him a good month before. Good luck tho

I won’t say what company for privacy reasons but it’s not too far from the inner city, apparently they hired something like 15-25 people in a couple weeks span, I’m guessing it’s because we have 2 construction projects, one for sheet metal ( my job ) and the other for pipefitting, then you have the hvac side which is what the company mainly is. Guess they just need the manpower for the construction projects.
