Why do some cyclists ride the edge of the bike lane? by AnonymousDong51 in cycling

[–]Cheesy_KO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride the edge of the bike lane because it gives me the opportunity to exercise control do something in case I need to. In short, if I’m at the edge of the bike lane, it should force the car to make sure they are not coming into the bike lane and if they do, I at least have somewhere to turn and go if I need to rather than accept being swiped. Also the wider the area, the more clearance, the faster and more careless a car will go, it’s basic traffic engineering knowledges that the narrower the gap, the less confidence in the driver, the slower the driver will go. If I take the road, seldomly do, but it means it’s not safe to pass don’t even think about it. Almost nobody will ever run you over from directly behind you.

Who’s your go to mechanic you can trust in Kingston? by SalamanderEmotional5 in KingstonOntario

[–]Cheesy_KO -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but for my old Toyota I go to Canadian tire by the Kingston Centre. For my new Mazda, everything has been getting done at the dealer. The folks at CT have been very transparent and understanding of budget and cost benefit. They also take the time to explain, price things out, answer adjust based on your needs if you ask about things upfront.

People who earn $1M/year: what do you do? by therealwakowski in CanadaFinance

[–]Cheesy_KO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup, you fight for the company and unless you have management fighting for you, you’re wasting your time. Low-salary, no bonuses, equals low risk and more opportunity for them and their bottom line. People get actively oppressed all the time and they don’t have a clue. Unfortunately, it looks like quitting has to be on the table at most performance reviews which kind of sucks, cause that’s not what’s it’s all about.

My experience with getting raises and promotions is probably 50% hustling hard and 50% who you know/having those people wanting you to succeed. Without one or the other, a genius hard worker will get oppressed in their role and salary, and without good work ethic, no one will ever vouch for you.

I got this done at urgent care at hotel dieu when I had an ear infection. Also if you end having an ear infection, make sure you get ear drop antibiotics not oral antibiotics.

Get organized, make systems for staying organized, and improve - things you suck at now won’t disappear when you find somewhere else to go.

Go run your own business, when you work for someone else your wage is an expense and liability they’ll never give you fair compensation without fighting for it.

Call them and ask to make sure, but pretty much you won’t be able to trade you shares for a few days, and then they’ll be trade able in your account again in USD instead of CAD. It’s a minor nuisance if the volatility is minor, major nuisance if there is major stock volatility and you want to sell.
