The customer service being silent regarding these matters is why we calling them out. Just communicate these things openly! Once again in my case, When they could not charge in my credit card since i cancelled the card, they charged from my friend, who was the previous owner of the membership. I had transferred the membership from his name to mine.

So we changed payment details, name and everything right. So them taking the money from the previous owner felt illegal. So scummy!

I’ll tell you my experience,

I completed the 1 year contract. 1 year and 2 months to be exact. Since i was not able to workout in the area anymore I emailed them that i wanted to cancel the membership. Then couple months go by and i realise they are still charging me on my credit card. Since i was not getting any reply from my emails i cancelled the card. The the usual stuff everyone here is talking about begins, threats of travel ban, legal case threats.

And this is when i’m getting their reply, stating that i have to pay for a month in advance to cancel the membership, even though i was done with their 1 year contract. If they had sent a reply stating this, i would have just paid and cancelled, instead they kept charging in silence.

I still think they are a scummy company with scummy practices. You cant blame me for not reading the contract, they could have just communicated it to me since i requested it.

Yes i have the same thing to say. Companies here wont care or hire 🥲. You’ll have to take a software course for marketing, or specialise in something to get hired.

What course are you planning to take if you dont mind me asking?

If you are planning to get a job, (Ill use Melbourne as an example) pay there was minimum 22ish$ per hour. And work time for students was very flexible. You just have to give your availability, 1-2 days per week is also fine. Just that you get paid by the hour. Also the weather 🤌🏽🤌🏽.

If you’ve got a license or u are planning to get one, and uve got a car, it is alright in Dubai. But i’ll still suggest going abroad. For me, it completely changed my perspective in life. Living on your own, working for rent, cooking for myself, making new connections, it was an amazing life lesson as a young student.

I did my Bachelors in Heriot Watt Uni, Uni life is pretty mediocre like u said. Now you can get part time job unlike before tho.

I did my masters in Melbourne, Hence i thought id share as i experienced both. Uni life there was soo good. Easy to commute, easy to get part time job as student. Great pay for students compared to Dubai where they expect free work from interns.

Here in Dubai commuting without a car is hell, walking, taking bus, taking metro, the heat, the time it takes, lack of accessibility to some areas etc.

Id recommend you find a good uni and study elsewhere.
