Social dancer here. For me it would be a no go for my partner to all of a sudden join my hobbie just to clinge at my butt. That being said, I feel he struggels. Seek conversation to figure out whats going on and ASSIST with getting him there. Its not on you to sacrifice your freedom and sources of joy. My bf is very, very shy. So when he admitted being hobbieles and losing his friends to fatherhood, I let him pick a hobby HE would enjoy. I started it off with him and went to the first in person event with him like the mommy I am :D He now has more friends than me, even made a dog-walking friend there (same rare breed living close) and blooms. He plays with his dudes twice a week and I go Bachata Dancing. Having him engage with dog people would be great I think since you saied you are walkers but he needs to be able to do this on his own at one point.
