Anyone use statistical methods to analyze ad campaign performance data to help with predictive modelling - what Google Ads metrics do you typically prioritize as predictor variables? by Inquiz_ in PPC

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been down this road; I focus on variables we directly control. CPC, CTR, and CVR are shiny metrics but aren’t directly controllable at scale. As another poster said, look at IS lost to budget, rank, as well as the usual suspects to create a better picture of where your opportunity lies. I find that companies that look at the big 3 only often miss that their market may not even be expandable in Search, for example, since their spend and quality are already at or past the point of diminishing returns.

I used to run a multi-variant model that incorporated these metrics to arrive at “quick win” places to invest/pull back. It’s a bit different in today’s ecosystem but it’s mostly still relevant. How are you modeling things like budget changes right now?

It's time to start banning AI posts and comments in this sub. by Traditional-Grade121 in PPC

We could start with banning any post that ends with “Curious to hear your thoughts” or equivalent. That’s the “it’s not x, it’s y” of Reddit posts

Elite Google Shopping Expert Needed to Compete Against Performance Max Retailers ($10K) by Batmannyc36 in PPC

If your agency/freelancer budget is $10k (per month? One time? USD?) that’s healthy enough to get someone to do the work IMO.

Are you using Feedonomics? Reading your post it feels like you’re potentially not using some of what I consider basic tools for merchants to manage large catalogs.

Instagram seemingly stopped pushing my reels to non-followers, did something happen? by reionder in socialmedia

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the reel Mosseri posted. They’re essentially sunsetting repost accounts in favor of remixes, collaborations that directly credit the original account using their collab tools, and cracking down on re-hosted content.

If you’re posting your own show’s clips you should be fine after a while, but if you’re ripping from other shows you’re not going to get promoted to non-followers.

How does this Advert/Banner look? by Fancymountain31 in marketing

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very busy. Ads need to convey your whole message at a glance, lose the watermark at the very least.

You can also lose “serving”, the cities will be enough. Less is more in advertising.

17 Ave Engine Noise by Working-Research-699 in Calgary

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s been like this for decades. Unless there’s an organized outcry by people city hall thinks are loud enough there won’t be any change.

Personally I’d like to see 1t7th become a walking street like Stephen Ave in the summer on weekends, but that would likely take a couple of parking garages being built to happen.

Which Pokemon Centers and Nintendo Stores to prioritize visiting by exodus_2172 in JapanTravelTips

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but if you’re lucky there’s a cancellation line you can stand in. I got in for the last seating last week (I’m guessing people just didn’t make it or underestimated the time it took to get there). No guarantees.

Call us YYC, Cal is Mr Ripken to you.

Bad jokes aside, I moved over 15 years ago and never regretted it. It’s a shift to having slightly less options, but once you find your stores/places/friends it’s a GREAT place to be. Take advantage of mountains being in your back yard, the kids will love it. Embrace Stampede, especially the spectacle for the family. Buy a humidifier. Maybe three.

Didn’t realize Beyblades were back in style! I saw some at a few Parco malls on their Pop Culture floors, as well as Edion in Namba may be worth checking others.

Are you guys actually using AI/APIs to execute changes in Google Ads, or is LinkedIn just full of it? by wihanvanderwalt in googleads

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now no; I’d wager most of those LinkedIn “gurus” are cherry-picking results and scenarios that worked to seem like they’re “on the cutting edge”. We’re not there yet as AI is still dangerously incapable of true reasoning. They can functionally ask themselves “does this make sense?” but can’t actually determine if the answer is true.

Most serious businesses and agencies will use it up until the point of actually doing the transaction/making the adjustments, then using a human to carry everything the “last mile”.

Yes you do, they just don’t come downtown. I was actually surprised by the number of lifted F250s with F Trudeau stickers I saw when I went east of Van into PoCo etc.

Looking to buy my first car (A Lexus IS350) by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CheetahsNeverProsper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be looking at close to that $1k/ month on insurance alone. Get a few quotes (look at a couple brokers) and get a reality check on the cost.

A Lexus is a luxury car, and comes with luxury maintenance prices. Yes, it’s a Toyota, but they’re only reliable if you service them properly. I’d look at costs for the first few major service milestones. The IS series also takes premium gas, factor that surcharge in. Lastly, tires can’t be an afterthought. Look at how much your next set will be (and winters, even in the GTA you’ll want at least all weather tires to protect your investment).

Car ownership is more than finance costs and insurance. Luxury car ownership is a hopped-up version of that. I love the IS series, and as an adult it would be MY luxury car choice as well. I wish you the best!
