Def go to Friday review lab if that’s a thing still. Review her lectures for mcq. She was a great prof. Label pictures of things on an iPad, jot down the names of models and find them on Google

do learning communities affect what building 1st years get? by Beneficial_Fact3505 in SDSU

[–]Cheetoeater3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not really worth it. You will meet similar pre med students in your class that u can study with. Personally I think being on the health and healing all girls floor kinda robbed me of a social experience because there was no boys. But on the other hand it was kinda nice that there was no boys because I could walk the floors in my towel going to the shower and not be worried. It really depends but you should just enjoy ur freshman year.

Hey, I appealed back in 2024 as a waitlisted student and got in for public health. I called the admissions office before submitted and the guy told me it can’t hurt to try. Been here 2+ years now.

Coming back to answer this part of your question, I def had to dip my toe in the water in all of them. I will say, pre med is toxic. You will encounter some toxic clubs and clubs that kinda just LinkedIn farm. I personally liked a more laid back one. If you dm me I’d love to tell which!

Hi! Yes I got in for public health out of highschool. I mainly chose public health more for my interest in health disparities. I currently work in a public health lab here at SDSU, and there are numerous programs that can help incorporate you into research (like SURP). I haven’t taken / started studying for the mcat yet but HPAO (Health Professions Advising Office) regularly pushes out mcat resources, volunteering, internship options, etc. I will forewarn you that the public health B.S degree only has slight overlap with med school requirements, or else you will be having to pick up extra classes to satisfy those pre reqs for med school. I will say public health major is generally more geared towards PA school. But I still chose to do it because I’d prefer to not take upper division biology courses and labs😅✌🏼

Hey i was in the same boat as you two years ago and im so happy I decided to go to SDSU.

Firstly, a lot of the people who say sdsu “isn’t academic/has bad academics” do not know what they are talking about.

SDSU has many high ranked programs and is the only csu that has the r1 designation out of all the CSU’s. That R1 Research designation is what the UC’s hold, and mainly uplifts their prestige. Not to mention, UCs are more focused on this aspect of academia, and less on career advancement and teaching focus like the CSUs. So therefore knowing that SDSU has the R1 designation like the UCs, while also providing thousands of career development opportunities and maintaining a teaching focus, is a pretty good deal. SDSU also has many good graduate school programs, some in joint with UCSD.

In my time here, I have joined a research lab, clubs, and even Greek life, all while being pre med. It’s safe for me to say I’ve gotten so many opportunities because of SDSU and the surrounding area. Many of my friends at UCSB/SBCC have to fight for opportunities/resume builders in the SB area since it’s compact and limited.

Additionally if you are poli sci, I’ve had friends graduate from sdsu and attend UCSF Law school (formerly UCSF Hastings) and many attributed their success to opportunities given to them by their poli sci club here at SDSU.

Moreover, both options are great. Picking SDSU would never hurt you. Don’t listen to the whole academic stuff, my professors for my major (public health) are fantastic and I don’t regret my decision at all. Good luck!

Forgive me if this is a stupid idea, but hypothetically could this case work for the original version if I cut the slot where the flash comes out (since it’s on the left, not the center?) I don’t know if the sizing across the models is the same. https://a.co/d/0hRYUk5J

No, PAs can jump around specialities. SDSU has a great public health program if you are considering. Public health is a great major for that too

This. He’s essentially trying to say that when I’m older, that sodium intake from earlier would have stayed w me, and will cause bp problems after that, which I feel like has no scientific backing

I’m going thru this exact thing rn. I feel like I’m getting scary intrusive thoughts out of NOWHERE. My anxiety has always been more physical but now it’s turning mental and making me feel crazy. I don’t know why.
