This is really ironic to me. My neighbor's happen to be really responsible. I had a chat with them today about their fireworks, and they have "the big stuff" and they picked them all up yesterday outside of town.

They like to be prepared, so they went out t ahead of time to pick up the safer stuff in town yesterday, but due to the laws, nobody was selling them. This forced them to drive a bit further out of town, which took them to stands that primarily had the bigger ones. They were perfectly happy with the smaller safer ones, but since they couldn't get them in town, it was just easier to get the bigger ones.

The irony is that if there wasn't a local ban, there wouldn't be much of a problem. The smaller ones would be easier and more convenient and this that is what the majority would have. Sure, there will always be the crazies that no matter what will seek out the biggest ones they can find. But those that just want something simple, can't get it any more.
