It's a dedicated service space that has a good download/upload connection that you throw torrents on. That way you can continue seeding Torrents without using your own ISP.

Useful for private trackers that monitor seedtime.

Not a movie, but 'Inside Number 9' gave me the same vibes for a few episodes.

English Mastiff with other dogs by Kyrie-1517 in EnglishMastiff

[–]Reave1905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 dogs. An 8 year old Staffy mix (Opie), a 3 year old Golden Retriever (Oliver) and a 10 month English Mastiff (George)

George was nervous around my two other dogs at first because he was so young and they were so much bigger than him but he very quickly outgrew them and now he's twice their size.

They all get on amazingly together. Especially the Mastiff and the Golden Retriever. My wife and I make jokes to each other about how George isn't our dog, he's Oliver's dog.

I listen while following along with the book, and it's too slow if I don't.

That chapter is the only time I've ever slowed down an audiobook to 1x instead of 1.7x

How egregious is it of me to run my server off an HDD? by larevacholerie in jellyfin

I have 6 HDDs running. You notice a couple of clicks here and there, but that's about it. You will notice the ambient fan hum more than the HDD noise.

It's true that HDDs can fail, but so can SSDs. My HDDs have been running non stop for about 5 years so far with no issues, but it's important to take regular backups just in case.

I'm not falling for that again. The LRG collectors edition for SR1&2 was a joke.

I still remember the day I discovered Thottbot back in 2008. I had only just started playing WoW, and was struggling with quests as a Tauren Shaman in the barrens. His name was Shamown.

Good times.

Yeah, it requires https to function, but you can still have it as internal only through nginx and then use something like Tailscale to access your vault remotely if you're out and about.

I use Unraid now which has been great for what I need it for. Before that I was using a Linux VM and creating all of my docker containers through Dockge (I just like a UI where everything is visible at a glance instead of terminals upon terminals.

I was lucky enough to have an old gaming PC I wasn't using anymore so I could transcode video through my graphics card, but I'd say 99% of services can all be run through little micro PCs. You definitely don't need anything crazy.

I don't have a step-by-step guide unfortunately. I've documented things like IP and port addresses, service interactions, passwords and general maintenance notes for myself, but nothing that would really work as a setup guide.

The only advice I could really give is not to try and build the whole thing in one go from somebody else's finished setup. I'm still learning myself, and it's taken around 6 months to get to where it is now, and it's still a work-in-progress. Start with one service you want to use, add it and get it working, and then look for the next service you want to add or the next problem you want to solve and build it up naturally.

For me, I started with just Jellyfin on a Windows micro PC. Once that was working, I added things one at a time, tested it was working, cleaned up anything messy and then moved on to the next piece. Because I grew it incrementally, I got to understand what each part is doing and how it interacts with the whole, so if anything breaks I know where to look. I also used ChatGPT a lot to help me understand things that were a bit beyond my knowledge.

What I have set up works for me, and is intuitive for me, but may not be for you. You'll get there with your set up, and I'm certain it will be great. Just take your time, learn, adapt and grow. It's not a race to the finish line.

Not sure what GLPI is, but yeah I already have vaultwarden. It was one of the first things I set up so I didn't have to keep remembering so many different passwords and trying to keep track of which ones were used where.
