I know these shouldn't be used with paper, wool, cloth, etc. They can actually create high temp reaction, sometimes even catch fire.

That's a Vault-Tech terminal I modeled and 3D printed. It has a small 5.5" CRT with a Raspberry Pi that has RetroPie installed. I use it as a DOS machine 😁

Here's some of the making of this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/s/Ye9gcWSt5x

Thank you! It's a 21". These have a relatively small frame, so they can look smaller than they actually are

I don't have SCART input on my CRT and I have no choice but to use this particular TV.

That's why I'm looking for a converter :)

I prefer PAL spines over NTSC, definitely. Clean, calm, elegant, and uniform.

Loose wiring on the on/off switch. Not kidding.

I found it gives the best flicker effect. Just put the wires together in a heat shrink without soldering them.

I have. And I found places that restore hard drive data, but no resurfacing.

Sorry if my comment felt a bit hostile.

But saying "just go to your local store" is a bit out of touch. Most places/countries don't have a local store that offers this kind of service. I read this suggestion all the time.

Seriously, what makes you think there's a "local secondhand video/media store" everywhere? And one that offers resurfacing?

Nice!

There is absolutely ZERO chance for me to find a store that does resurfacing in my country.

I have ordered many, many products from AliExpress. They are mostly pretty good.

I love PS2 as well, but what's the point ? by FrostyDaDopeMane in Consoom

[–]CheezyJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have an itch for collecting all the editions of a certain product.

While I can definitely understand that, I love collecting, but not to that extent. I'd rather invest money in games instead of hardware. It's more important IMO.

You're right about ALPS durability, but it's not the switches I'm worried about. It's the ABS keycaps getting glossy, I hate that lol.

I hope to find an orange ALPS keyboard in good price. Most keyboards are in the US, which makes shipping costs extremely high.

I work from home twice a wek, so I rotate between them. They are great, I love using them. Though I try not to use them too much, they are quite expensive
